this album is a rare opportunity to feel the warmth generated by a genuine superstar. no vocal tricks! no orchestral grandstanding, just a terrific singer doing what she does best, communicating with sincerity. a show case for her talent to that
date, and an introduction to some material not previously recorded, including some classy covers of Judy Garland material. In addition this Album is worth buyig to catch the Sterling arrangments of Bob Florence

NOBODY DOES IT BETTER THAN VIKKI!
From the moment I heard the first restrains of "Afternoon of a Faun" I felt like I was actually at this live concert!
I bought this album back in'73 and it is rather worn by now. Thanks to Collectibles I now have a brand new CD of "Live At The Greek."
My favorite song is "Love Song" and I hope Vikki will include this in future concerts. My other favorites are "Afternoon of a Faun", the spanish medley, the Garland medley, "Can't Take My Eyes Off You" and "I Can't Stop Loving You." Oh heck, I love them all! But I love Vikki even more.
Buy this one. You won't regret it.

Here is the best live recording finally making it to CD format this year! Vikki is a darling and I would enjoy seeing her on TV more. Just a listen and you will know we are dealing with a DIVA!!!!
Love Song, Overcrowded Dreams, and It Must be Him are my favorites, oh yes,
With pen in Hand and The Judy garland Medley, plus the soap opera comedy skit by Vikki! You are a true Entertainer!

I am so glad this album is finally out on CD. I have played this album over and over through the years. This live album captures all the excitement and energy of a Vikki Carr concert. Her live renditions of "It Must Be Him" and "With Pen In Hand" are excellent. Her Judy Garland medley is awesome espcially the ending for "Over The Rainbow". Few people nowadays can capture and audience like Vikki Carr can. You won't go wrong with this one!

Brava ....Vikki....
I haven't listened to any Vikki Car in years. I have a lot of her vynal, but haven't played any.
So, this 2 CD set was a real treat.
WONDERFUL for the fan of great music.
I am happy to say, she still has a strong voice.
If you appreciate good mucic, American and or Spanish. Get this Set.

This discount-priced two-fer combines Vikki Carr's two highest charting albums, It Must Be Him, which keyed off of her only Top Ten hit, and For Once in My Life, a live recording. Carr had been recording for most of the 1960s when she unexpectedly broke big with "It Must Be Him," which may be the ultimate torch song, in the fall of 1967. She sang the melodramatic ballad with a sense of torn emotion in her voice, recounting the turmoil of a love affair that has not quite ended, at least as far as the song's narrator is concerned. The It Must Be Him album, not surprisingly, expanded upon this theme to include other songs of lost love, songs that, 35 enlightened years later, sound like paeans to female victimization, most of them written by men. But there are also some gems, such as Carr's reading of "Alfie" and an early Jimmy Webb composition, "Tunesmith," a title he later used for his songwriting instruction book. For Once in My Life, recorded at the Persian Room of the Plaza Hotel in New York, is a typical nightclub act in which Carr introduces ...

Before settling for enduring cult fame with Big Star, Alex Chilton enjoyed ephemeral pop stardom as a singer with Memphis group the Box Tops. Their first hit, "The Letter," was a tantalizingly short and perfect pop song-from its drum-tapped intro to its sound effects-drenched fadeout. In an effort to sustain momentum after this 1967 chart topper, the rest of the band was kept out of the studio while the American Sound studio mafia backed the gravel-voiced teenage Chilton under the supervision of producer Dan Penn.
The group had a total of ten Top 100 hits, all included here. The finest of these, "Cry Like a Baby," is an impeccable slice of blue-eyed soul penned by Penn and Spooner Oldham.
