This four-track EP is a tribute record, all of the songs taken from the repertoire of the Chilean band Los Tres. The songs combine aspects of romantic Latin pop, sweet soul harmonies ("Olor a Gas"), disco, and electro-pop ("Amor Violento"). It's pretty eclectic for an EP, but it's not a release that seems destined to endure as a notable venture in the Café Tacuba discography. ~ Richie Unterberger
This four-track EP is a tribute record, all of the songs taken from the repertoire of the Chilean band Los Tres. That's a pretty arcane tribute to make, in the U.S. market at any rate (and this EP was released by MCA in the U.S.), and in sections of the Latin American market as well. Were this the work of an emerging group, one would suspect that it was the product of musicians unsure of their direction, the songs combining aspects of romantic Latin pop, sweet soul harmonies ("Olor a Gas"), disco, and farting electro-pop ("Amor Violento"). It's pretty eclectic for an EP, but it's not a release that seems destined to endure as a notable venture, or even side project, in the Café Tacuba discography. ~ Richie Unterberger

Cafe Tacuba Vale Callampa Songs Vale Callampa Music Review Average Rating: (3.8 out of 5 stars) On the line. Gallo Gasss and the boys keep on doing it!!!...although a tribute will always be a tribute, Cafe Tacvba has been able to come out of their obscure and really Mexican lives, to give to their public a musical taste of their metamorphic emotions, like every single time. I wish the new cd could've had more songs, but once again i think it's more than enough for now.
Standing ovation. Applause. Submitted by a reviewer (NJ, USA) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
Muy bueno No me gustan los covers, pero cuanto se tratan de covers con arreglos musicales tan buenos, da gusto escucharlos. Un disco muy bueno. Lastima del numero de canciones. Submitted by a reviewer (Los Mochis) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
Submitted by a reviewer (Santiago, Chile) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
cafe tacvba blows minds again! From the first song one is automatically drawn to it's cool tacvba style and smart lyrics by los Tres. It is absolutely a must have for any true cafe tacvba fan. Its good therapy for the soul!! The only bad thing about this cd is the number of tracks (4).. This cd will keep you wanting more. I guess well have to wait for their next masterpiece..

Vale Callampa album
$15.59 On Quake, downtown cello boss Erik Friedlander teams up with Japan's fraternal rhythm section the Takeishi brothers (Stomu and Satoshi on bass and drums, respectively) as well as alto saxophonist Andy Laster for a date of intimate, knotty new jazz. In working with an electric bassist in this setting, the opportunities for unique tonalities are everywhere and are exploited to some degree as they were on an earlier work, The Watchman. Over the years, however, Friedlander has become a composer of interesting ...

$9.49 Ever since the Nirvana/Pearl Jam/grunge upheaval of the early '90s, the term "alternative rock" has, for the most part, been a figure of speech. Post-'80s rockers who are loosely defined as alternative -- a vast group that includes everyone from Creed to No Doubt to Korn to Ben Folds Five -- are quite mainstream. So they aren't really an alternative ...
