Santana Fillmore Performance San Francisco 1968: Deluxe Edition. CD

The recording on this is so terrible that the music is immpossible to enjoy. This makes santanas woodstock performance(a fairly poor recording) sound excellent, It sounds like the source for this disc was a 4th generation cassette. I got it cause I really liked the sony live at fillmore '68 release and figured this would maybe not be quite as good, but at least similar. I can not believe they put this utter trash out... Not even for die hards. Guess everyone's tryin' to jump on the Carlos cash wagon, including Carlos himself(quite an extensive line of merchandise he's got). Of course it is your money. This is the only Santana disc I have been extremely dissapponted with, see my review of sony fillmore west '68 and San Mateo sessions, which are both great. Review by Chris Henrici.

 This CD is a total joke
This cd doesn't even deserve 1 star and is not even worth talking about it's so unbelievably bad. The ONLY reason I'm writing this is hopfully discourage any potential buyers to avoid this release at any cost. As already written , the sound quality is unforgiving to say the least. The song titles are wrong and the biggest joke of all is that much of the material on it isn't even Santana!!! It is packaged in a 3/4 inch think box to give the illusion that you are getting a nice complete package with a load of extra goodies. Inside the box, along with the single CD full of the WORST example of Santana ever, you get a little poster and a 2 page booklet that would have fit easily into a standard CD jewel case. Complete ripoff My actual rating: 0

 Viva Santana Live!!!
This does not sound that bad I've heard worse. The Fillmore 2cd set is better. But I would still recommend this if you want early Santana live.
