Closed Captioned; Soundtrack English; English Subtitles; Dolby Digital 5.1 Re; DTS Sound Director Ken Russell's vibrant, hyperactive version of the Who's classic rock opera tells the story of a boy (Roger Daltrey) rendered deaf, dumb, and blind by the sight of his father's murder. His psychedelic journey through a maze of abusive relatives and strange "cures" eventually leads to enlightenment and sainthood. The film is based on guitarist Pete Townshend's stage opera, and features a star-studded cast that includes Ann-Margret, Oliver Reed, Elton John, Jack Nicholson, and Tina Turner. Theatrical Release: March 19, 1975. Tommy Reviews: "[R]edeemed by the performances of Ann-Margret and Oliver Reed, interesting cameos from Elton John and Tina Turner, and a stylish sense of design."

FAROUT MAN This is a cool classic This movie is a classic, for it takes you back to a time where most of the world only cared about 3 things and those of us from the "HEAVY TRIP" age know what those 3 things are and life seemed easy then, unlike now but still it's a good movie you might want to own it. Tommy - Double agent for Pink Floyd's The Wall This movie is the story of a boy, Tommy (Played by Rodger Daltrey), who had a horribly traumatic experience as a child, which made him deaf, dumb and blind. His mother begins to go insane because she can't grasp how he is still sane without knowing anything about the world around him. As he ages he becomes a hero to the youth of America by becoming the Pinball Wizard. After he gains his sight, hearing and intellect he becomes a god to his followers who eventually turn on him.
What bothers me about this movie is that it reminds me of Pink Floyd's The Wall. A boy is traumatized as a child, grows up to have a fan base, and then turns into a dictator of sorts, who eventually turn on him. It's basically the same story, just told differently and with a different soundtrack.
I like this movie because it's put together well, the story is interesting and takes you into the mind of a very crazy band, The Who. I suggest it for anyone who loves rock and roll music and has a taste for something odd told in a facinating way.
4 stars from me because its such a cool movie and its nice to know that The Who could do something besides just play cool music. Submitted by a reviewer (Rutland, VT) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No This review is for a different format.
A Great Work of Art Kick back, turn up the volume and enjoy. This is the kind of movie you can play all weekend while you have friends over and clean your house. Elton John, Tina Turner, Ann Margaret, and Eric Clapton are all fantastic. Great choreography, design, and music. Delightful campy fun! | | Peter Gabriel - Secret World Live DVD (1994) DTS Sound
Tommy review
$16.45 When Peter Gabriel left the popular prog rock band Genesis in 1976, he took a very different musical direction from his former bandmates. Interested in the beats of African music, Gabriel added a world music flavor to his arty pop music. SECRET WORLD LIVE captures this interest in world music, and incorporates instruments like the doudouk and African drums. Filmed live in 1994, it features some of his chart hits like "Sledgehammer," "Digging in the Dirt," and the love song from the film SAY ANYTHING, "In Your Eyes."
This DVD features a live performance from the European leg of the critically acclaimed "Secret World Live" Tour, from Modena italy in 1994. The material has been digitally transferred, specially re-mixed and re-mastered with stereo, DTS and Dolby 5.1 Surround Sound. Special DVD bonus footage includes timelapse ...
| | Led Zeppelin - DVD DVDs (2003)
Tommy DVD
$22.75 Very few Led Zeppelin performances were caught on camera during the band's life-span, but the footage that has been preserved for posterity is collected on this release. With a running time of over five-and-a-half hours, this is the definitive word on Zep's global stage-straddling performances. The footage is taken from London's Royal Albert Hall in January 1970, London's Earls Court in May 1975, Knebworth in August 1979, and Madison Square Garden in July 1973. Guitarist Jimmy Page has taken great care to restore, remix, and remaster the sound from these shows, providing a visual and sonic assault that offers indisputable proof of Led Zeppelin's reputation as a rock & roll behemoth. Additional footage comes in the shape of several television interviews, a bootleg shot of the band performing "Heartbreaker," behind the scenes footage from Knebworth, and a whole lot more.
This 2-DVD boxed set features a variety of live+ programming. Disc 1 includes Live at the Royal Albert hall, 1969, also Danish TV 1969, French TV 1969, ...

$14.09 Law & Order: Special Victims Unit is a spin off of NBC's incredibly popular and long running crime drama, Law & Order. SVU focuses on sex crimes and, instead of spending half the program's hour with the cops and the other half with the lawyers, this series stays with the police and the criminals they pursue for most of the show. | | Desperate Housewives - The Complete First Season DVDs (2004)
Tommy movie DVD
$34.55 All is not as it seems on Wisteria Lane, the pristinely manicured suburban setting of television's hottest prime-time soap. We learn this within the first few minutes of the DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES pilot episode, when seemingly sane and happy housewife Mary Alice Young removes a revolver from a drawer and shoots herself in the head. In the process of trying to make sense of her sudden and inexplicable suicide, Mary Alice's friends end up revealing just as many secrets about themselves and their neighbors as they do about her past. Narrated by the spirit of Mary Alice, each episode follows the ups and downs in the lives of bored trophy wife Gabrielle Solis (Eva Longoria), klutzy-yet-charming Susan Mayer (Teri Hatcher), frustrated stay-at-home-mom Lynette Scavo (Felicity Huffman), and anal-retentive homemaker Bree Van de Kamp (Marcia Cross). As love-struck Susan competes for the attention of new neighbor Mike Delfino (James Denton) with neighborhood seductress Edie Britt (Nicollette Sheridan), Gabrielle takes a liking to her hunky 17-year-old gardener. Meanwhile, Bree attempts to fix her life's problems through obsessive housecleaning, and Lynette struggles to control her children while at the same time keeping her sanity. Throughout the course of the show's wildly popular debut season, each woman faces her fair share of drama and does her part in helping to uncover a mystery that goes deeper than anyone can imagine.

| | Simpsons Movie DVD (2007) Full Frame
Tommy video
$13.55 THE SIMPSONS MOVIE may not qualify for the honor of "Best. Movie. Ever," but even the harshest critics like Comic Book Guy will find little to dislike in this hilarious comedy. Springing from Fox's hit series, the movie expands the adventures of the Springfield residents into a feature-length film. Here Homer's selfish antics (and a hankering for free donuts) are responsible for a horrific ecological disaster that could spell the end for Springfield. So it's up to the paunchy patriarch to save his family and the town from the mess that he has created.
Just as in the Emmy-winning show, THE SIMPSONS MOVIE skillfully combines smart satire with inspired silliness. Dan Castellaneta, Harry Shearer, Hank Azaria, and other regulars of the series provide laughs with their vocal talents, while Albert Brooks is hilarious as the film's villain. Though THE SIMPSONS MOVIE is best seen after a lifetime of watching reruns of the show and repeating its endlessly quotable lines, viewers don't have to be die-hard fans to get the jokes. Screenwriters Matt Groening, James L. Brooks, and Co. are at the top of their game here, channeling the show at its ...
