In a market that has seen an influx of emo-pop, pop-punk, and power pop bands, every act has a bio that admits how hard it is to stand out amongst the crowd. And then the band swears that if the listener would just look a little deeper, he or she will find that there's something special about said band. Sonny does the same thing, yet doesn't seem to follow through on the "unique" part of the equation. Many of the riffs and the general guitar tone all sound the same as the plethora of other indie pop bands that exist. Nothing new is really put into the equation, and the only saving grace is that all the members of the band were 18 and younger in age at the time of recording, thus making it understandable how they might release an album with such an immature, although notably polished, sound. This is not a catastrophe by any means, yet in such an oversaturated music market, it seemingly serves no purpose, either. ~ Kurt Morris
Sonny: Matt Liebel (vocals); Joe Urban, Nick Pelloso (guitar); Rob Soucy (bass); Alli Vahadji (drums).

Temporary Remedy album
$11.39 Karmic Brick sparked attention almost immediately upon introducing themselves to the internet indie music community in early 2004. The band built a broad and devoted international fan base by unleashing only a taste of what was to come from their debut album, The Unnatural World. The four tracks released, 'Pain,' 'High,' 'Amber Jesus,' and 'Experience Jones,' quickly yielded over 10,000 plays on Soundclick, which also propelled 'Pain' to an impressive two-week stay at #1 on the Soundclick Grunge Chart. When The Unnatural World was finally released in October 2004, critics validated what fans already knew and Karmic Brick's originality began attracting industry attention. Said Colin Lynch of International Online Music Magazine, "the album is immersed in grunge... clever grunge that is, and vocals that go up the walls, around the radiators, across the ceiling and straight down the back of your neck when you least expect them to. This is where Karmic Brick's innovation becomes the icing on the cake along with accomplished songwriting and expert arrangements... it's all totally unpredictable folks...an astonishingly clever album from astonishingly innovative boundary bending writers and musicians."Australia's The Buzz Magazine concurred citing "Walking In My Mind" and "Amber Jesus," in particular, as "a wildfire of artistic expression."Additionally, The ...

Temporary Remedy CD music
$10.15 Taking power pop to less-traveled latitudes, Chicago-based GO TIME! is thrilled to announce the release of their debut CD, Speak. While the band is new, its four members are no strangers to the Chicago music scene. GO TIME! is comprised of former Prairie Town members Scott Niekelski (composer/roaring guitars/vocals), Marko Marketti (blasting bass) and Steve Grzenia (pounding percussion). After a year-long search for a guitarist to complement Scott's thunderous style, Paul Schmidt climbed aboard the GO TIME! Winnebago, bringing along a unique, polished style of his own to the mix. Schmidt's professional music career dates back to the late 90s, launching with Central Illinois band, The Cromulents, in which he was both a guitarist and drummer. Paul switched to full-time guitar duties in 2000 when he formed One Million Monkeys with a former ...

$16.45 DJ BUTCH: Fueling Industry InnovationBy: Keith KennedyIn the music world, conformity is the ultimate double edged sword. On one side, if you do not fit in a box then the industry tosses it to the side. On the flip side, new creativity is what fuels the game to evolve. So, what is an artist to do? Well, for DJ BUTCH, the answer is simple, paint an auditory picture on a blank canvas as if there are 'No Rules!'DJ BUTCH hails from the small community of Florida's Wakulla County located in the panhandle near Tallahassee. Nicknamed, 'Will-kill-ya' County, the lack of opportunities often leads its unchallenged youth into bouts of alcoholism, drugs, depression, and violence. But, for DJ BUTCH his saving grace came to him early in his life. 'It all began around 1994,' DJ BUTCH recounts, 'my cousin was DJing and rocking the crowd! I loved the whole idea so much I went and bought 2 turntables and got a small crate of records from a friend. Then, I started rocking parties all over Wakulla County.'Soon, his talents were called to duty as the rap group named Tyger Hill was formed. The group enjoyed moderate success by working with greats such as T-Pain, George Clinton, 3-6 Mafia's Dj Black, DJ OG Ron C, and Thrill Da Playa (frontman of the multi-platinum group, 69 Boyz). 'Tyger Hill for me was a great learning experience, plus I had a chance to work with and make some great friends,' DJ BUTCH laments. This is evident in that to this day, the group still keeps in contact and still ...
