Truly the art of Beverly Sills!
The title of this compilation very well lives up to its name. Each selection gives a glimpse into what Beverly was renowned for. I think the collection would be a little more complete if there were something from Traviata though, as she has performed the title role many, many times throughout her career, and perhaps one aria from Giulio Cesare. This is a tiny quibble in light of the pleasure that this album brings. The best soprano, in my mind, EVER!

Sills is back
It is great to have this glorious voice
restored to us in this wonderful
recording. Hers was one of the more
lustrous and clear voices, and for too
long we had to do without it, as the
remastering and reissuing of her
recorded music has been slow in coming.
She seems most comfortable in the French
repertoire, although she delivers the
Vilja song from Merry Widow like I've
not heard it before. Wonderful to have
the selections from Donizetti's
"Queen's" operas.
