Recording information: Hippie House Studios, Houston, TX; Knockhard Studios, Houston, TX. Snypaz Music Review Average Rating: (4.3 out of 5 stars) This is NOT like the Snypaz... I can tell something is wrong with this release...First of all the beat selection isn't like the Snypaz-style. Who are some of the studs rappin' with them?? And also, I know 2-4 Chilla ROB & Sic Wic wouldn't have released this kind of material. They ain't never came wack, but I support this album off of GP. | | B Rich 80 Dimes CD (2002)
Snypaz CD music
$6.09 Rapper B Rich may not be from a hip-hop hot spot like New York or L.A., but the Baltimore-based artist has no need to align himself geographically in order to make his case as a vital performer. For one thing, 80 DIMES one-ups many of its contemporaries just by being downright funky, something many too-clever hip-hop producers tend to overlook. Just the rhythm track alone on "Showtime," for example, something of a cross between New Orleans R&B (courtesy ...

| | KRS-One I Got Next CD (1997)
Snypaz music CDs
$7.59 I GOT NEXT is an enhanced CD which contains multimedia programs accessible with a CD-ROM drive as well as a full audio program playable on any normal CD player.
Philosopher, MC, teacher; there is only one man in rap music that fits this description, and there is not much left that he needs to prove. In just a little over 10 years, KRS-One has gone ghetto-platinum, all of his releases considered rap classics. Both with Boogie Down Productions and as a solo artist, KRS has schooled rap fans with his thoughtful, intelligent lyrics. On I GOT NEXT, KRS-One continues to take hip-hop beyond entertainment and into education.
Musically, KRS still delivers the raw hip-hop he's famous for. "The MC" is head-nodding rap at its best, with KRS' lyrical flow adding even more depth to a multidimensional track. "Step Into A World" features rowdy lyrics and a loud party-anthem beat that will rock any crowd. On the Enhanced CD, KRS-One talks ...

| | Joe Rathbone Welcome To Your New Life CD (2001)
Snypaz music CDs
$9.49 Folk-pop guitarist and songwriter Joe Rathbone crafts a compelling brand of acoustic-based American pop on his 2001 album Welcome to Your New Life. Produced by Michael Conrader (Destiny's Child, Aaliyah, and Michelle Shocked), the album has a warm, intimate feel, which is a refreshing surprise from a producer known mostly for his work with R&B artists. Brighter and more optimistic than his contemporaries like John Gorka and David Wilcox, Rathbone is in his element on simple, upbeat songs like "Victory Girl" and "Big Round Sun." While the album doesn't necessarily break new ground, Welcome to Your New Life is a welcome contribution to the contemporary singer/songwriter genre. ~ Zac Johnson
"Welcome to Your New Life" was produced by Michael Conrader (who has worked with Destiny's Child, Aaliyah, and Michelle Shocked), Paul Shellack, and Joe Rathbone. The record is getting rotation on over 100 college and AAA stations, inluding WFUV in New York City. Rathbone's talent for writing crisp yet quirky pop tunes continues to gain notoriety. This recognition has led him to appearances at the Atlantis Music Conference (Atlanta, GA) and NEMO (Boston, MA), and numerous regional showcases. Here's what the critics are saying about "Welcome To Your New Life:""Singer-songwriter-guitarist Joe Rathbone throws himself into the arena of Tom Petty (nee Dylan) performers" - Village Voice, New York, NY"Joe spruces up the singer-songwriter genre with pop overtones." - 99X (Atlanta's alternative rock station)"Rathbone's latest release 'Welcome To Your New Life' is full of what might be termed as 'heartland rock' -- a soulful mix of acoustic and electric texture and grooves -- capped with a voice that hints at Brit Elvis Costello and an attitude that's upbeat yet cynical...Perhaps in Rathbone's case, the cream will rise to the top. His songs show a maturity, even sophistication that is the product of years of listening, playing and, most importantly living. Beatlesque string lines flesh out 'Nothing To Brag About' while 'I Know I've Been Bad' has a chorus that would make Elvis (as in Costello) proud." - Michael Lipton, Charleston Daily Mail, Charleston, WV"New Atlanta resident, Joe Rathbone probably comes face to face with a lot of, 'Oh...that's what I'm hearing,'kind of reactions, when explaining his upbeat, pop-inflected music, which bears the stamp of his former home of Jersey City, New Jersey. Quick, name at least one rock act, other than the Boss, to come from New Jersey. If you're one of the smart ones who said The Smithereens, take a bow, because they are one of the most immediately obvious touchstones for Rathbone's sound, on more rocking cuts like, 'Rainbows.' Elsewhere, on the recording, he ranges far from his Garden State roots with the Elvis Costello-sounding strains of, 'I Know I've Been Bad.' A heady melancholy wafts through the Joe Henry-like, 'Heart Full of Song,' and the title cut is a rousing, memorable tune ...
