It's contaminated. That's what pint-sized Bo (Abigail Breslin) says about every glass of water that she tries to drink, then rejects. This is just one in a long list of strange occurrences that are changing the lives of the Hess family. Things go awry when Graham Hess (Mel Gibson) and his brother, Merrill (Joaquin Phoenix), awake early one morning to find the dogs barking and the children--Bo, and her brother Morgan (Rory Culkin)--wandering bleary eyed in the corn fields. They discover a pattern of perfectly carved crop circles left the night before. Trying not to overreact, Graham ignores the media frenzy that has permeated all television and radio stations, and even shrugs off the oddly familiar information that Morgan reads in his book about extraterrestrials invading earth. The real challenge for Graham is to find the faith he needs to pull himself, and his family, through this unexplainable series of events. SIGNS is the long-anticipated film from writer-director M. Night Shyamalan (THE SIXTH SENSE, UNBREAKABLE), a suspenseful and uniquely chilling family story.

Theatrical release: August 2, 2002

"...Skillfully made....The movie keeps you watching..." -- Mike Clark, USA Today

2 stars not quite sure
I had a hard time with the fact that aliens would come to a planet which is about three quarters covered in water, the very thing that destroys them. If they could travel as far as they did and are able to go wherever they want, why here? And the scene when they are in the basement. Again, if they could travel this far, they sure could break down a door. Maybe I missed something?

3 stars THEY ARE HERE!
This is a movie, that is actualy better with a couple of viewings, as there are many depths to explore! I don't think it has the magic and terror of The Sixth Sense, but it sure is worth while spending the time enjoying what it offers! I personaly think it had the potential to be more than what it was and if someone like Spielberg was at the reins, it may have been realised? However,it's a good story, that works on many levels and the acting is good from all concerned. Maybe if the writer/director has seen the Aussie movie, "Incident at Ravensgate", it may have inspired him to take the movie up to another level?

5 stars Beyond The Reality of the Unknown Mystery!
Signs was a really good movie. Where Mel Gibson plays a retired priest who discovers this extra terrestrial circled shaped lifeform circle around his farm crop field. Suddenly all of these strange occurances that Mel Gibson with his brother Joaquin Phoenix and his two kids. Discover on television from live news events around the world as they watch that the ruth is out there. Which means scientist and religious bible prophets predict the end of the world without any miracle. I'm giving this Mel Gibson movie for my review here TWO THUMBS WAY UP!!

5 stars I ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT!!!
This is the best movie I've seen in years. I've always been told that everything happens for a reason. That God as has already laid out a plan for our lives. This movie just re-enforces that belief. I'm not a fan of Sci-Fi, nor a believer in alien life forms, so that part was a bit of a throw off for me. For anyone, who's faith has ever been tested, for anywho who has ever questioned God reasons, this movie is absolutely enlightening! Mel Gibson is a extraordinary actor.

In this high-intensity drama, based on the novel by Tom Clancy, Ben Affleck stars as Jack Ryan, the CIA agent from Clancy's THE HUNT FOR RED OCTOBER, PATRIOT GAMES, and CLEAR AND PRESENT DANGER. Here, Ryan is dealing with a terrifying new problem: a nuclear weapon has fallen into the hands of foreign terrorists who are determined to create a war between Russia and the U.S. As the film begins, a South African arms dealer (Colm Feore) acquires a long-lost nuclear weapon and sells it, at great profit, to a resurgent group of fascists led by Dressler (Alan Bates), who plans to lure the U.S. and Russia into a war. Soon after, the Russian premiere dies and the relatively unknown Nemerov (Ciarán Hinds) replaces him. But U.S. president Fowler (James Cromwell) smells a rat, and calls CIA chief William Cabot (Morgan Freeman) and special agent Jack Ryan (Affleck), the junior analyst who has been researching Nemerov, into action. THE SUM OF ALL FEARS is a powerful addition to Tom Clancy's techno-thriller series. Affleck is effective, and there are notable supporting performances from Freeman, Cromwell, Feore, Hinds, Bates, and Liev Schreiber as a CIA operative. ...

The science-fiction thriller MINORITY REPORT, directed by Steven Spielberg and starring Tom Cruise, is based on a short story by renowned writer Philip K. Dick. In the year 2054, in Washington, D.C., murder has been eliminated thanks to Precrime, a program that uses the visions of three psychics, called Precogs (an abbreviation for precognitive thinkers), to arrest and imprison would-be murderers before they have a chance to kill. Tom Cruise plays John Anderton, a Precrime enforcer who believes in the system for his own personal reasons--years back his young son was abducted, and he has dealt with the loss by becoming a high-strung Precrime officer. The director of Precrime (Max von Sydow) is eager to take the program national, and feels threatened by an ambitious federal agent (Colin Farrell) who is bent on finding a flaw in the system. When Anderton finds himself accused of the future murder of a man he's never met, his faith in Precrime is instantly shaken. He goes on the run, and is trailed by the relentless Precrime police. In the tradition of BLADE RUNNER (also based on a Dick story), MINORITY REPORT is a dark, brooding vision of the future. Spielberg expertly mixes thrilling chase and suspense sequences (the best of which ...

In Gore Verbinski's remake of Hideo Nakata's chilling horror film, a group of teenagers all die suddenly and inexplicably exactly one week after watching a mysterious videotape at a remote cabin in the Pacific Northwest. Journalist Rachel Keller (Naomi Watts), a relative of one of the victims, begins an investigation that leads to a mountain resort where she discovers the tape, which contains footage of random and surreal images. After viewing the tape, Rachel receives a phone call stating that she, too, has seven days left to live. As the clock ticks away, Rachel enlists the help of her former boyfriend, Noah (Martin Henderson), who is the father of her startlingly serious young son, Aidan (David Dorfman). Assisted by the intuitive illustrations of Aidan and the initially reluctant research of Noah, Rachel attempts to discover the significance of the cryptic tape before her time is up. The original RING, based on a novel by Kôji Suzuki, was a cult phenomenon in Japan, spawning a sequel, a prequel, and other spin-offs. Although Verbinski's adaptation shares much in common with its Japanese counterpart, the director distinctly alters ...
