| | Sammy Hagar Greatest Hits Live! CD Sammy Hagar Discography of CDs
(2 Customer Reviews)
Whoa! Hold on a second there, buddy boy. By titling a Sammy Hagar release Greatest Hits Live, you'd think that renditions of such Hagar hits as "Three Lock Box," "Your Love Is Driving Me Crazy," and especially "I Can't Drive 55" (as well as perhaps a Van Halen tune or two) would be included, right? Wrong -- you don't get any of that here, folks. What you do get is a mere ten-track set, comprised of selections that will be familiar only to longtime fans -- in other words, none of Hagar's recognizable favorites are included. But if it's an in-concert sample of Hagar from before his solo career took off and he joined Van Halen, this isn't half bad, as it includes such Montrose classics as "Bad Motor Scooter" and "Space Station #5," as well as such early solo standouts as "Red" and "Trans Am (Highway Wonderland)." But these songs were never 'hits,' which makes Greatest Hits Live an extremely misleading title. ~ Greg Prato Greatest Hits Live! Music Sammy Hagar Greatest Hits Live! Songs Greatest Hits Live! | | Sammy Hagar Classic Masters CD (2002) Remastered
Greatest Hits Live! music CDs
$5.29 Although probably best known for his affiliation with Van Halen from the mid-'80s through the mid-'90s, Sammy Hagar was of course a solo artist beforehand, churning out quite a few so-so releases for Capitol, before jumping ship to Geffen and scoring the biggest hits of his career. As a result, the Sammy Hagar edition of Capitol's ongoing Classic Masters series is a bit of a misleading title, as there's no "I Can't Drive 55" or "Three Lock Box" anywhere to be found here. What you do get is a thorough overview ...
| | Sammy Hagar Live Hallelujah CD (2003)
Greatest Hits Live! songs
$10.15 Whether or not you're a fan of Sammy Hagar and his larger-than-life persona, there's no denying the guy's in-concert might, which has earned him a flotilla of fans and landed him high-profile gigs fronting legendary hard rock bands like Van Halen and Montrose. HALLELUJAH is a live effort, featuring material culled from 2001 and 2002 gigs, that essentially serves as a chronology of the Red Rocker's career.
After opening with the thunderous "Shaka Doobie" ...
| | Zebra IV CD (2003)
Greatest Hits Live! album
$13.19 Neo-classic rockers Zebra return from hibernation with their first studio recording in 17 years. Unlike most bands, however, the trio remained active, touring the East Coast, with mastermind Randy Jackson fostering some low-key side projects (China Rain, Sign). Here and now, the one-two triumph of openers "Arabian Nights" and "Light of My Love" shows the boys haven't missed a trick since the halcyon daze of '80s AOR. As in Zebra's signature single, "Who's Behind the Door," Jackson ...
| | Sammy Hagar Essential Red Collection CD (2004) Remastered
Greatest Hits Live! CD music
$7.65 Though he didn't become a true worldwide superstar until he joined Van Halen in 1985, Sammy Hagar was long respected by fans and peers alike for his uncompromising commitment to stripped-down, unadulterated hard rock. A bluesy wailer on ...
| | A-Ha Minor Earth Major Sky CD (2000)
Greatest Hits Live! music CDs
$11.65 A-ha's sixth studio CD (seventh if their greatest-hits collection is included) came seven years after their previous album, Memorial Beach, and in that time it seems that a-ha mellowed out. They do not seem to have concern about attracting the youth/dance market, but instead seem to be focusing in on how to make perfect middle-of-the-road pop songs with '90s technology. This is not a criticism, as it produces several fantastic songs, such as "Little Black Heart" and the wonderful "I Wish That I Cared." These, and many others, are full of catchy, beautiful melodies and Morten Harket's vocals are near perfect as usual -- his voice has not ...

| | Philosophy: The Best Of Bill Hicks CD (2001)
Greatest Hits Live! album
$14.45 Once called "the Lenny Bruce of our generation," in this case such a label wasn't just hype. Having seen a few of Hicks' outrageously irreverent David Letterman appearances, he's even funnier on the recordings of his more unfettered club act, a rare comic in that the more profane he got (i.e., the more patently offensive to Middle American TV audiences), the more he'd make you laugh. It's still hard to believe this razor sharp-tongued zinger died of ...
