Eagles Very Best Of CDs (2003) Top Seller
Essential Heart buy CD music THE VERY BEST OF includes a 46-page booklet with pictures and track information.
"Hole In The World" was nominated for the 2004 Grammy Award for Best Pop Performance By A Duo Or Group With Vocal.
The Eagles' founders Don Henley and Glenn Frey were forthright in their desire to bring then-emerging country rock to new heights of commercial success. Formed in Los Angeles in 1971, they learned from their observations of the scene around them, and subsequently took their music to the top of the charts. They stayed there throughout the '70s, becoming synonymous with the sound of Southern California rock.
The band's first hit was with a song by Jackson Browne, and their first album also included a cover of "Ol' 55" by Tom Waits, but the bulk of the material they're known for was penned by Henley and Frey. This two-disc set wisely expands the original VERY BEST OF collection with important album tracks that have also long been band staples and favorites (such as the aforementioned Waits tune and a number of other songs from their pre-platinum first three releases). As is often the common industry-wide practice, there's also a new song, "Hole in the World."
A 2-CD retrospective from the multiplatinum superstars whose 1976 "Greatest Hits" is the #1 album of all time! Special Limited Edition bonus DVD included with a music video, outtakes from the video and backstage pass to Farewell 1.
Initial pressings included a bonus DVD.
Recorded between 1972 & 2003.

Elton John Greatest Hits 1970-2002 CDs (2002) Top Seller
Essential Heart songs Initial pressings of this first edition contain a bonus disc.
Recorded between 1970 & 2002. Includes liner notes by Paul Gambaccini.
Greatest Hits 1970-2002 is a nearly flawless double-disc set commemorating Elton John's three-decade career. Disc one features what may arguably be John's most essential work: Seeing songs such as "Saturday Night's Alright for Fighting," "Goodbye Yellow Brick Road," "Candle in the Wind," and "Bennie and the Jets" -- not to mention "Your Song," "Rocket Man," and "Tiny Dancer" -- lined up back to back reaffirms just how diverse, and yet universal, his songwriting talent is. Disc two finds this talent maturing gracefully into the '80s, '90s, and beyond, touching on pop gems like "Don't Go Breaking My Heart," "I'm Still Standing," and "I Guess That's Why They Call It the Blues" as well as his Lion King classic "Can You Feel the Love Tonight?" and the Aida duet "Written in the Stars" with LeAnn Rimes. The collection also finds room for the highlights of his most recent albums, including Made in England's "Believe" and "Blessed," The Big Picture's "Something About the Way You Look Tonight," and Songs from the West Coast's "This Train Don't Stop Here Anymore." For most casual fans, Greatest Hits 1970-2002 will replace the need for collections such as Greatest Hits, Greatest Hits, Vol. 2, and Greatest Hits, Vol. 3, although these collections are still worthwhile as of-their-time retrospectives of John's work. ~ Heather Phares

Chicago Very Best of Chicago: Only the Beginning CDs (2002) Top Seller
Essential Heart album for sale Chicago commemorates 35 years of playing together with the career-spanning 2-CD anthology ONLY THE BEGINNING. This Windy City septet started out as one of the few '60s groups aside from Blood, Sweat & Tears and The Electric Flag to fuse a full horn section with a rock band. Chicago's early hits included more aggressive fare like "25 Or 6 To 4," "Beginnings," and a scorching cover of The Spencer Davis Group's "I'm A Man," but they became known as a ballads band as the '70s progressed. AM hits like "Saturday In The Park," "Just You 'N' Me," and "Baby, What A Big Surprise" helped solidify this reputation.
Despite stumbling in the late '70s and getting dropped by Columbia Records, Chicago neatly landed on its feet at Warner Brothers. Their chart assault in the '80s continued with ballads like "Hard To Say I'm Sorry/Look Away," "Hard Habit To Break," and the quintessential prom theme/wedding song "You're The Inspiration." Hits sans Peter Cetera (who left in 1985), include "Chasin' The Wind." Wrapping up this 40-song set is "Sing, Sing, Sing," a new collaboration with The Gipsy Kings.
Out-of-print in the US. Subtitled - Only The Beginning. Double disc with 39 hit singles spanning Chicago's complete 35-year history. Including the #1 singles 'If You Leave Me Now,' 'Hard To Say I'm Sorry' and 'Look Away'. Booklet features detailed liner notes by Bill DeYoung. Rhino Records
Includes liner notes by Bill DeYoung.
All tracks have been digitally remastered.

Essential Heart CD music Bursting forth in the late 1970s, Van Halen made its mark by melding the hammering wallop of hard rock with an iconoclastic approach to the guitar. With striking virtuosity, Eddie Van Halen's guitar playing succeeded in turning the heads and dropping the jaws of a wide range of listeners. Matched with the acrobatic energy of frontman David Lee Roth and the formidable rhythm section of bassist Michael Anthony and drummer Alex Van Halen, these combined elements added up to Van Halen's hugely success musical formula.
THE BEST OF BOTH WORLDS is a two-disc overview of more than 25 years of Van Halen recordings. The set contains a few of the now-standard new songs included in such offerings. Placed on the first disc, this trio of tunes finds VH's second singer, Sammy Hagar, back on board (he'd left in '96 when the band planned to record with Roth again). In fact, the compilation's title (taken from the Hagar-era song) is a reference to the band's two major eras, as demarcated by their distinctly different frontmen. The result is a collection that features raucous, hyperactive songs with Roth ("Hot for Teacher," "Jump," "Unchained") and soaring ballads and mid-tempo anthems with Hagar ("Dreams," "Right Now," "Finish What Ya Started").
Includes three previously unreleased tracks.
2CD Career Retrospective W/ 3 New Tracks.

REO Speedwagon Essential REO Speedwagon CDs (2004)
Essential Heart buy CD music Named after an early pickup truck, this band from Champaign, Illinois recorded some of America's most popular arena rock. THE ESSENTIAL REO SPEEDWAGON charts the group's progress from 1971 to 1999, from the early riff-rockers on which the act built its fanbase to the juggernaut hits of the early 1980s to a handful of later recordings. Kevin Cronin and company certainly know their way around an anthemic ballad, as evidenced on the guitar-driven "Keep on Loving You," the powerfully catchy "Take It on the Run," and keyboard-laden "Can't Fight This Feeling." The earlier collection THE HITS places all of REO Speedwagon's radio-friendly singles in a more concise, single-disc package for casual fans, but, for those wishing to delve further into the band's catalog, this double-CD compilation is indeed essential.
Liner Note Author: Kevin Cronin.
Recording information: 1971-1999.
REO Speedwagon: Kevin Cronin (vocals, guitar, piano); Mike Murphy (vocals); Gary Richrath (guitar); Bruce Hall (bass guitar).
