Father Ted: The Complete Series 3 Movie Review Average Rating: (4.5 out of 5 stars) Father Ted - Heavenly Comedy !! The FINAL episodes of what would have to be one of the best english comedy series ever written. A good time guaranteed for all. A fitting end to a great series When you think of the great British comedy series over the years, there are few that are timeless, that remain as fresh today as the day they first screened.Father Ted is one of those few series, along with the likes of Blackadder and Red Dwarf.
Such a simple premise - three priests stuck on a little island off the coast of Ireland - however means so many possibilities are offered. The unfortunate death of star Dermot Morgan (Father Ted) the day after the final episode of series 3 was filmed, means 3 seasons is all we'll ever have - but 3 seasons of some of the funniest moments ever captured in a comedy show.
Season 3 has some really great episodes, in probably what is overall the weakest of all three seasons. Season One is a great introduction. Season 2 has the program at fullforce, but by season 3, some of the ideas are a little too off-the-wall. That doesn't mean you won't have a great laugh, but if you're new to Father Ted - I'd recommend Season 2 over the others. For a fan like me - I have all three sets, and it's nice that the bonus Christmas special is included as a bonus feature on this set. Submitted by a reviewer (New Zealand) Was This Review Helpful? Father Ted: The Complete Series 3 video
$20.35 Dermot Morgan, Ardal O'Hanlon, Frank Kelly, Pauline McLynn, Tony Guilfoyle, Patrick Drury - Dir:Declan Lowney The irreverent BritCom has been called "undoubtedly the finest comedy about three Catholic priests stuck on a tiny island off the Irish coast ever made." Features all six episodes of the highly-acclaimed premiere season, in which the trio's shaky grasp on reality is challenged by such things as the arrival of the world's worst funfair and the All Priests Stars-In-Their-Eyes Competition.
This set compiles six side-splitting episodes from the legendary first season of FATHER TED, featuring the comedic exploits of three Irish priests and their hellion housekeeper, all exiled to the Parochial House on Craggy Island for their incompetence in the line of duty. Includes: "Good Luck, Father Ted" -- Ted gets a chance to escape Craggy Island when he's asked to appear on "Faith of Our Father," a prestigious Eirean television program. However, his aspirations are frustrated by the cantankerous Father Jack, the loopy Father Dougal and the arrival of Funland, the world's worst carnival. "Entertaining Father Stone" -- a visit from the insufferably dull Father Stone finds Ted praying for relief, only to be horrified when his prayers are answered with a bolt of lightning. "The Passion of St. Tibulus" -- Ted and the gang find themselves at the center of controversy when the Pope orders them ...
