Closed Captioned; Soundtrack English Walt Disney Pictures produced this version of Mark Twain's beloved novel, "The Adventures of Tom Sawyer."
Young friends Tom Sawyer and Huckleberry Finn are once again causing mischief in 1840's Hannibal, Missouri. However, the boys run into even more trouble than they bargained for after they witness Injun Joe kill a man late one night.
Although the two friends take an oath of secrecy, Tom reveals the killer's identity to save an innocent man from being sent to prison. But Injun Joe avoids capture and goes after Huck, Tom and Tom's girlfriend, Becky Thatcher.
The film's exciting climax has the youngsters facing the murderer in a creepy cave. Disney's live-action adaptation of Mark Twain's "The Adventures of Tom Sawyer" follows the exploits of Tom and Huck as they witness a murder, fake their own drowning in fear of Injun' Joe, search for hidden treasure and finally return to Hannibal, MO to do the right thing. Released theatrically in the USA on December 22, 1995.
Soundtrack available on cassette and compact disc from Walt Disney Records.
The Disney animated short "Stand By Me" featuring the characters Timon and Pumbaa from "The Lion King" played with "Tom and Huck" in theatres.
Additional cast: Peter Mackenzie (Mr. Sneed).
Jonathan Taylor Thomas, who plays Tom Sawyer, also stars as Tim Allen's son on the TV show "Home Improvement." Tom And Huck Reviews: "...This umpteenth adaptation of Mark Twain's classic THE ADVENTURES OF TOM SAWYER should rope in both [boys and girls]..." -- Rating: B

Tom And Huck DVD Tom And Huck
Jonathan Taylor Thomas (HOME IMPROVEMENT) stars as America's greatest teenage hero -- Tom Sawyer! No boy ever had so much fun, got into so much trouble, or had so many outrageous adventures! Disney's magic touch now turns Mark Twain's masterpiece into "An outstanding classic adventure film" (Kids News Network). Tom and his rebellious friend Huck (Brad Renfro) witness a midnight killing. They swear not to reveal what they saw -- but that causes a real problem. If Tom doesn't speak up, an innocent friend may be hanged. But if he does tell the truth, the real killer, knife-throwing Injun Joe, will come after him! TOM AND HUCK has it all -- a treasure hunt, a haunted house, a courtroom showdown, a scary chase in a cave, and a valuable lesson for young Tom: when a friend's in trouble, you don't run away! Now one of the world's great stories becomes a great addition to your family's Disney library!

Tom And Huck film
$13.55 With BLACK AND WHITE, writer-director James Toback (FINGERS, TWO GIRLS AND A GUY) confronts the topic of race head on--most specifically, the influence of black urban hip-hop culture on white America. Set in New York City as the 1990s wind to a close, the film is told in a broad, episodic fashion, interweaving several different story lines in order to address a multitude of ideas. In the most comedic, a white documentarian (Brooke Shields) and her gay husband (Robert Downey Jr.) follow a group of affluent white teenagers (led by Bijou Phillips) around the city as they unabashedly pursue a Staten Island hip-hop crew. As the leader of the crew, Rich Bower (the Wu-Tang Clan's Power) struggles to leave his criminal past behind and become a legitimate musician. In the most ...

Tom And Huck film
$14.45 Acclaimed actor Liev Schrieber (DAYTRIPPERS, THE MANCHURIAN CANDIDATE) makes his directorial debut in this adaptation of Jonathan Safran Foer's bestselling novel about a young Jewish-American writer of the same name. Mixing equal parts black comedy and poignant drama, the film follows Jonathan (Elijah Wood) as he travels to the Ukraine to solve a family secret. There he meets his barely legitimate tour guides: Alex (Eugene Hutz, member of the folk-punk band Gogol Bordello), a cosmopolitan playboy obsessed with Michael Jackson and other American icons; Alex's grandfather (Boris Leskin), a man worn down by life who seems to be losing his grip on reality; and Sammy Davis, Jr. Jr, the "seeing-eye bitch" dog who comes along for the ride. As Jonathan closes in on his goal--to find the story behind the woman who saved his grandfather during the Holocaust--it becomes clear that Alex's grandfather has a dark secret of his own that needs to be, as the film suggests, illuminated.
EVERYTHING IS ILLUMINATED lives up to the quirkiness of its source material, and is similar to films like BEING JOHN MALKOVICH or LOST IN TRANSLATION. ...
