Considered by many critics to be the greatest resident of the classic film archives,Citizen Kane never limits itself from receiving endless praise.Built on the expression,"greatness needs not much experience",at twenty-five--Orson Welles pumped out his masterpiece that become a cinema landmark.Helped to neverending lengths by the great writing of Herman J.Mankiewicz,talented actors,and the grand cinematography,"Kane" was a groundbreaking achievement in the film industry.Just about every shot in the film is a visual treat worthy of a full-figured painting-- that can be hung on the walls of some fancy art gallery.Welles claimed to have watched John Fords' classic,"Stagecoach" over thirty times in preparation and inspiration for this film.All the virtually unknown actors{Welles himself plays the lead}at the time give strong performances that lend to the films theme of fresh and new.But still the main selling point remains the great cinematography and excellent direction that lands this film first on the tongues of critics when the topic of greatest films of all time comes up.Classic.

"Rosebud..." Easily one of the greatest quotes to come from one of the greatest movies of all time. This film has got everything that makes a great movie; brilliant directing, good acting, and a excellent, well-paced story. It may be a bit long, but don't let that stop you from watching this movie! It's a classic!
