Don Rice Time For Love CD

a native of omaha, nebraska, don became a professionalmusician at the age of 14, and traveled with midwestterritory bands until entering college. he headed campusjazz groups at the university of nebraska. in the 1960's,he formed the don rice jazz workshop band, a sixteen piecegroup that gave concerts throughout the midwest. appearances included the kansas city jazz festival, thejoslyn art museum in omaha, the university of nebraskastudent center, and a major concert with the four freshmenin the omaha civic auditorium. in 1990,he moved torancho mirage,california, and has been performing insouthern california since that time. last year, he appearedin buffalo, new york for the 14th consecutive year as aguest soloist for the jazz series sponsored by the buffalonews and the albright-knox art museum. this summer, he willbe appearing at the mammoth lakes jazz festival in northerncalifornia for the 8th time. he was recently featured inpalm springs, california with his quintet for the ninthtime. he has worked these concerts with conte candoli,vocalists tierney sutton, stephanie haynes, guitaristlarry koonse, and many other top jazz players.

over the years, he has worked with frankie carle,george kirby, bob crosby,the maguire sisters, barbaramcnair,herb jeffries, the four freshmen, the pied pipers,the modernaires, buddy greco,and the abe most band.

he appears at local palm springs jazz clubs.
