| | Best Of Trance Vol. 3 CD (2 Customer Reviews)
The third volume in Robbins Entertainment's Best of Trance series ably picks up where the second left off, selecting a decent but hardly definitive batch of recent and popular trance singles. With the proliferation of mixed albums available -- many of which were mixed by no-name DJs -- one of the benefits of this series is that each track is provided in full. Featured on this disc: Lasgo's "Something," Perpetuous Dreamer's "The Sound of Goodbye," Dreamcatcher's "I Don't Wanna Lose My Way," Foggy's "Come (Into My Dream)," Plummet's "Damaged," and Marc et Claude's "Tremble." If you're familiar with a couple of these tracks and are otherwise unfamiliar with trance, this is not a bad way to get your feet wet. ~ Andy Kellman

Best Of Trance Vol. 3
$8.99 Part of the Scandinavian goth metal scene (Norwegian division), Trail of Tears put a symphonic metal gloss on otherwise standard goth metal as it moves through extensive use of Rick Wakeman-style prog pop synthesizers and occasional female vocals -- check out the chorus of the almost poppy "Denial and Pride," which could pass for Peter Gabriel-era Genesis in a really bad mood -- that brings the group closer to the more accessible end of the style. The usual clichés of the genre are present and accounted for -- singer Ronny Thorsen's lyrics have the usual "I-am-a-golden-God" ...

| | Magda She's A Dancing Machine CD (2006) (Import) Germany
Best Of Trance Vol. 3
$14.79 With the minimal techno movement reaching a fever pitch in 2006, Magda took her turn and stepped up to the plate for the M-nus camp following their successful DE9 and min2Max releases. It's no real surprise that out of all the DJs in the M-nus camp, Magda was the next selection for a DJ mix. After all, her mixtapes were hot items in Detroit in the late '90s, right before Hawtin handpicked her out of a slew of talented DJs to be his protégée on the road. So, armed with a slew of exclusive tracks from her friends and labelmates, Final Scratch DJ software, and a whole lot of moxie, Magda sets off on a 70-track excursion through the state of minimal techno circa 2006. With Magda influenced by her mentor Hawtin, the 70 tracks come at a frenetic pace, as tracks rush in and fade out just as fast as they appear. But unlike Hawtin, her ...
