The third chapter in the saga that director George Romero started in 1968 with NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD moves the story further along the timeline of the zombie apocalypse to a time when survivors are few and far between. At an underground Florida research station, Dr. Logan (Richard Liberty) conducts grotesque experiments on captured zombies to search for a way that the living and the living dead can cohabitate. Begrudgingly sharing the facility with the doctor is military man Rhodes (Joe Pilato) and his underlings. Scientist Sarah (Lori Cardille) and her fellow survivors seek refuge at the compound just in time to see a clash between Logan and Rhodes reach a critical turning poin DAY OF THE DEAD, part three of George Romero's zombie trilogy, has the putrid man-eating creatures out in full-force and taking over the world, while a group of surviving soldiers and scientists bicker in a military bunker. DAY OF THE DEAD stands as the most controversial film in the series. While some feel that its confined, talky nature prevents it from achieving the constant white-knuckle thrills of the previous two films, others admire its strides toward figuring out what drives the zombies. Regardless, the third act features the most extreme and well-executed special effects in the series, with several gory sequences that will leave an undeniable impression on those who witness them. The original script written by George Romero concerned an actual trained army of zombies being commanded by an insane Florida tyrant, but budget restrictions made it unfilmable.
The members of the rock band NRBQ appear in the film as zombies.
Day Of The Dead Reviews: "From its damning portrait of US militarism to its uproarious gore FX, the third entry in Romero's zombie cycle is superb."
-- Matthew Leyland, Sight and Sound "...Affords [Romero] the opportunity for intermittent philosophy and satire, without compromising his reputation as the grisliest guy around..."

$9.69 Picking up where NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD left off, and still offering no explanation of why the dead are walking the earth, DAWN OF THE DEAD plunges headlong into one of the most violent and original horror films ever made. After securing an apartment building overcome with flesh-eating zombies, two Philadelphia area SWAT team members, Peter (Ken Foree) and Roger (Scott Reiniger), flee to a television station, where they escape in the station's helicopter with Francine (Gaylen Ross) and Stephen (David Emge), two station employees. Day Of The Dead DVD
$14.75 Brewster is an idyllic little town with clean streets, green parks, a booming economy, and a friendly, content populace. Or so it seems...until one day, a mysterious stranger arrives. A seemingly congenial, clean-cut, and upstanding citizen himself, Whiley Pritcher (Ron Marquette) buys airtime at the local public access station, and puts on a show called "Our Town," during the Sunday family hour. Whiley poses one question to his call-in audience, "What's wrong with Brewster?"--a question that soon unearths the corrupt, insidious world that lies beneath the town's placid veneer.
The first feature film from Bryan Singer and Christopher McQuarrie, (the collaborators behind THE USUAL SUSPECTS), PUBLIC ACCESS is an ambitious, disturbing look at small town life. Like David Lynch's BLUE VELVET, Singer here attempts to reveal the dark, sinister side of an Anytown, USA. Working with a tight budget, a script he co-wrote in ten days and a cast of relative ...

$11.19 Elvis Presley, the undisputed king of rock, performs in a concert recorded on December 3, 1968. Airing as an NBC special, this spectacular performance--his first T.V. performance in eight years--has become legendary. Performing alone as well as in special jam sessions with Scotty Moore and D.J. Fontana, his early backing musicians, Elvis puts on the kind of crackling, charismatic show which ...
