2 Lps On 2 Cds. B/W "Jammin' At Condon's"
2 LPs on 2 CDs: JAM SESSION: COAST TO COAST (1953)/JAMMIN' AT CONDON'S (1954). Personnel includes: Eddie Condon (guitar). A double-CD set comprising Eddie Condon's first two sessions for Columbia, Jam Session: Coast to Coast/Jammin' at Condon's finally makes these widely available. Both show Condon and his band at the time -- which included Edmund Hall, Wild Bill Davison, and Peanuts Hucko, among others -- at their fire-breathing best. No mention is made on the front or back cover, but only the first four cuts on Jam Session: Coast to Coast are by Condon and his group; the other six tracks are by the Rampart Street Paraders. ~ Wade Kergan

Classic Eddie Condon Notwithstanding the missing three note trombone intro on “I Ain’t Gonna Give Nobody None of this Jelly Roll”, this CD is an almost flawless re-release of a 1950's recording I have enjoyed on vinyl for many years. Wild Bill Davidson on trumpet is at his best in what has to be one of the best Dixieland Jazz recordings in existence. Submitted by whitingsd (Newtown, CT USA) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No

nostalgia Excellent. Many inspired solos by great artists. The liner notes were very poor and gave little information about the jam session. Submitted by a reviewer (ft Myers, florida) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
Marvellous These recordings have been my favourite recordings in this genre, since I heard them, in the mid fifties.
My 45 rpm recordings are almos worn out, so I welcome the CD issue! Submitted by Bengt (Sweden) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
