Of all the underground European thrash outfits who helped pioneer death metal during the '80s -- bands like Hellhammer, Sodom, Destruction, and Bathory -- Kreator arguably holds up the best over time (with the possible exception of Celtic Frost). Where many of their peers made an impression solely through manic intensity, Kreator became increasingly able to bolster their harsh fury with progressive compositions and tight, technically accomplished musicianship. The band's most influential period, 1985-1992, is captured on Past Life Trauma, a fan-selected, 18-track best-of that features two rarities and two previously unreleased tracks. Featuring most of Kreator's best material from the '80s and early '90s, it's the perfect introduction to the influential thrashers' output, and it's been digitally remastered to boot. ~ Steve Huey
Includes two previously unreleased tracks.
All tracks have been digitally remastered.

Past Life Trauma (1985-1992) Music Kreator Past Life Trauma (1985-1992) Songs Past Life Trauma (1985-1992) Music Review Average Rating: (4 out of 5 stars) For The Kreator Elite! If you are someone that needs to own everything Kreator, then this compilation is for you. If you are someone that has never heard Kreator and wants to know what they are all about, then this is a good place to start. For the average Kreator fans that owns all or the majority of their previously recorded material, then you might want to pass on this. Only for the song 'After The Attack,' might you consider buying this. 'Past Life Trauma' covers the Kreator albums from 1985's 'Endless Pain' to 1992's 'Renewal ,' with a few rare/unreleased track thrown in, to make you actually want to buy this. All the tracks recieved a re-master job that was done in 2000,which is used as a selling point for these otherwise pointless compilation cds. The song selection is great, you get all the essential bases covered from 'Tormentor' to 'People Of The Lie.' The live stuff on here is deffinately only for the Kreator true, since there is the far superior sounding 'Live Kreation' available. The cd booklet does contain some rather entertaining photos, but nothing you should go out of your way to see. I am writing this review from the view point of a above average Kreator fan, who owns all of their albums. I was just a little disappointed in this release, hoping for something more. If you are someone that needs some Kreator in your collection, or was a fan of 80's thrash and only liked the songs 'Betrayer' and 'People Of The Lie,' then this should be what you are looking for, if not, try 'Live Kreation.' "After The Attack" Bought this strictly for this rare Noise comp. only track. Originally appeared on "Doomsday News 1" on the Noise label, great track and a great compilation of Kreator for the beginner, avoid the others which only highlight certain eras of the band this one kills. amazin' true, this isn't something a die-hard fan would usually pick up. then again, i'm not a 'best of' type person either. however, if you are just getting into Kreator, this is the cd to do it with. it has all the greatests songs from their greatest period. highly recommended!
