Kreator: Mille (vocals, guitar); Frank (guitar); Rob (bass); Ventor (drums). Personnel: Mille (vocals, guitar); Frank Blackfire (guitar); Ventor (drums). Audio Mixers: Steve Heinke; Randy Burns. Recording information: Eldorado Recording Studio, Hollywood, CA; Image Recording Studios, Hollywood, CA. Photographer: Martin Becker. Although they remained largely without peer when it came to pure Germanic thrash metal, by the time of 1990's Coma of Souls, Kreator's very successful formula had begun to grow a little tired. The fact that they were coming off perhaps their biggest album yet in 1989's Extreme Aggression didn't help matters, and despite its overwhelmingly solid songwriting, Coma of Souls still sounded somewhat repetitive to all but the most unquestioning of fans. Still, better too much of a good thing than nothing at all, and with their head-spinning musicianship and well-chosen stabs at melody, complex moshers like "When the Sun Burns Red," "Angels of Brutality," and the title song are guaranteed to thrill lovers of technically proficient thrash. Two tracks in particular stand out of the pack, namely the outstanding "People of the Lie," whose chorus is almost too groovy and memorable to be called thrash metal, and the expertly executed "Terror Zone," with its unnaturally measured pace and a melodic intro to die for. Also of note, the band hardly skips a beat with the arrival of former Sodom guitarist Frank "Blackfire" Gosdzik, who establishes an instant chemistry with vocalist and fellow six-stringer Mille Petrozza from the start, as they proceed to exchange lead after stinging lead like machine-gun fire. ~ Eduardo Rivadavia(11-12/90) - "...the usual thrash." Kreator Coma Of Souls Songs Coma Of Souls Music Review Average Rating: (4.4 out of 5 stars) Solid thrash Kreator knew not to mess with a winning formula, so they pretty much repeated themselves for Coma Of Souls. This works for the first half of the album, which contains two of Kreator's best songs, When The Sun Burns Red and Terrorzone (the lone "different" song), but after Agents of Brutality it all kind of blends together. The songs aren't bad, it just gets kind of repetitive (which is why I took off a star). If you like your thrash hard and fast, pick this one up. Classic Thrash I got this tape, yes tape, back in the day. 1990 I think. This is one of those classic thrash cds you should have in your collection. Some say this album is bland and vanilla but I beg to differ. Guitar work is awesome and songs such as Coma of Souls and People of the Lie are standouts. Just recently I went back to my parents house and found all my old thrash tapes and now I am wanting to get all these old thrash albums on CD. Anyway if you were into this back in the day buy this again on CD. IF you are new, this is a CD that will give you some history on thrash metal. Good stuff! Coma Of Souls
$6.09 UK soundtrack to 2000 film starring Robert Duvall & Michael Keaton. Featuring a score by Dire Straits frontman who's also scored the films 'Local Hero' (1983), 'Cal' (1984), 'The Princess Bride' (1987) & 'Last Exit to Brooklyn' (1990). A Warner U.S. release.
Original score composed by Mark Knopfler. Performers include: Catriona Macdonald (fiddle); Billy Jackson (whistle, harp, bodhran); Iain MacInnes (bagpipes); Chris White (soprano & tenor saxophone); Steve Sidwell (flugelhorn); Lain Lowthian (piano accordion); Guy Fletcher (keyboards); Danny Cummings (percussion). Mark Knopfler has the luxury of being selective about soundtrack work, and this is only his tenth film score in 17 years. It may be that he waits for films that can benefit from his approach, which is generally a lighter version of what he used to write and perform for Dire Straits and what he does on his solo albums. The soundtrack albums of his films usually are so closely identified with him that it's ...

Coma Of Souls
$17.15 PowerWorld is the continuation of the Power Metal genre into the present day. Catchy melodies and unmistakeable hooklines, interesting, concise riffs, expressive lyrics and slightly progressive elements woven into intelligent arrangements are what gives this band its unique style. You may well see several familiar faces in the band, but it isn’t a project! It took Ilker Ersin quite some time to put together the group of musicians with whom his ideas could become reality. The clear, powerful voice of vocalist Steffen Brunner is reminiscent of the greats of the 80’s and 90’s. The 23-year-old’s talent and the expertise of the rest of the band are what make Powerworld unique!Ilker’s lifelong friend Barish Kepic of Jaded Heart is on guitar. The band also includes keyboard player Nils Neumann of Freedom Call and ...
