Eyes In The Night Movie Review Average Rating: (3 out of 5 stars) Terrific Mystery Edward Arnold is Captain Duncan MacLain, a private detective with all of the skills; tenacity, wit, genius, and experience. He couldn't be any better if he wasn't blind. In this neat little mystery, Duncan is visited by an old friend that's worried about her stepdaughter's relationship with an older man. She knows the man from previous experience and doesn't want her stepdaughter to make the same mistake she once did. However, the girl doesn't like her stepmother and not only doesn't want to listen to her, she'd like nothing better than to break up the relationship between her stepmother and her father, a famous scientist with a new invention. Later, when the stepdaughter visits the man, she finds the man murdered and her stepmother on the scene. But, there's a lot more to this mystery than a simple murder and Duncan MacLain and his brilliant seeing-eye dog, Friday must spring into action to solve the murder and more. This is the first and best of two mysteries featuring Edward Arnold as MacLain; "The Hidden Eye" followed a few years later. There's a great cast that includes Arnold, Donna Reed, and Mantan Moreland. I really enjoyed both of the MacLain movies. The only problem is they left me wanting more. Eyes In The Night video
$11.29 Perhaps the most memorable film about the aftermath of World War II, THE BEST YEARS OF OUR LIVES unfolds with the homecoming of three veterans to the same small town. The leads all touch emotional truths: Myrna Loy seems able to express longing, joy, fear and surprise--mostly with her back turned--in a particularly poignant welcome home. The movie never glosses over the reality of altered lives and the inability to communicate the experience of war ...

Based on the true story of Frank and Lillian Gibreth's child rearing adventures as they were depicted in the book written by two of their children, CHEAPER BY THE DOZEN is directed ...
