| Ghost and Mrs. Muir Still Tops If you love a good story, if you love a great romance, and if you love fantastic acting, do NOT miss seeing this movie. When you see it, you'll want to OWN it, too. Classics are classics for a reason. The handsome and sexy Rex Harrison and the beautiful and appealing Gene Tierney are at the top of their game in this fairy tale that you wish could actually come true... One of my VERY favorite movies of all time! By execsec820 (Herndon, VA) |

| The Great Unknown Classic Romantic Film First and foremost - this movie and the TV show (Charles Nelson Reilly - ugh) share a name and concept only!! Don't let the reputation of the short-lived TV show scare you away. As a man, I've sat through uncounted and usually unremarked romance flicks to make nice with the various women in my life over the last thirty years. I usually drift through most in a haze - but not this one. Maybe it's the ghost concept that hooked me originally; it's the rest of the movie that wouldn't let me go. The acting is excellent all around, with just enough scenery-chewing by Harrison to make the intense Captain come to life (so to speak. ) Tierney is engaging but not sappy as the spunky, widowed young mother determined to make her own way in life, and who finds an ally in the Captain's ghost. The haunting aspects lend just the right amount of humor and glue to the story. Sanders played the suavely flawed 'Uncle Neddy' to perfection from start to finish.
