| A hybrid of Cooder's previous approaches.
On this album Cooder's tries for something in between his raw, bluesy solo albums and his recent polished collaborations. The result is unique and charming.

| Very good indeed
Ry comes back with another winner. This is just great to listen to; conjure up those sultry Cuban evenings and pour yourself another Margherita.

 | Not Ry's strongest work; has some merit though
I found this album disappointing. The last of Cooder's Cuban collaborations, my hopes were high. This is very different from the folksy feel of Buena Vista, Ibrahim Ferrer, etc and relies heavily on electric instruments.

I first heard excerpts of this album when Ry Cooder was interviewed on NPR's "All Things Considered" more than a year ago.
