An excellent representation of a rare masterpiece
Gaetano Donizetti - Maria Stuarda video I was quite impressed with this DVD, musically its outstanding, the sopranos in the lead roles are sensational, the confrontation in act 2 is a classic. The sets are reasonably sparse but do not detract from the performance, the supporting roles are excellent. This high operatic drama of the best kind.
