So what does a guy who spat out hardcore gangsta rhymes as a pre-teen do when he reaches legal drinking age? Apparently he gets even harder. On LIVIN' LEGEND, New Orleans Dirty South pioneer B.G. (aka B. Gizzle and formerly Baby Gangsta), spends much of his time warning anyone who might mess with him that he takes no guff (the terminology he uses to communicate this is, of course, a mite more colorful). On his first album since leaving his longtime label Cash Money under questionable circumstances, B.G.'s skills are undiminished, and he uses his prodigious talents to slam the company and anyone else who might doubt his talents. The rapper's trademark super-laid-back rhyming style (which makes even Snoop Dogg Sound hyperactive) carries a chilling sense of resignation that often communicates the hopelessness of ghetto life more effectively than other rappers' angry rants. In classic Dirty South gangsta style, B.G. addresses the untimely murder of friends, urban sexual politics, and various criminal activities with a lucid and often electrifying directness. | Livin' Legend Music Review Average Rating: (4.3 out of 5 stars) List All Reviews B.G. doing it without Cash Money!! B.G. AKA B-Gizzle has come back with one of the hottest albums of the year so far. This is his best album since chopper city. I beleive he has made the transition of being an independent rapper. B.G. is complemented by is brother Hakim and there freind Gar, these three rip the tracks making the album one that will surprise you. **ONE OF HIS BEST** The title is fitting for the content of the album. BG proves that he is worthy to be called a "Livin Legend". There are tracks on there for the gangstas, the ladies, the party goers, the laidback types--there's a song for everyone!!! Submitted by bedstuychik (BedStuy, Brooklyn) Was This Review Helpful?
