||Great Team Effort from STYX|
I have listened to this CD a lot since I purchased it. I love it! The songs are well crafted and combine elements of classic rock and more modern sounds. Many may miss Dennis DeYoung (as I do) but the band has evolved into a slightly different animal that still can stir the spirit and rock the house. If you like bands or performers such as classic STYX, Kansas, Queen, Blink 182 or even Steven Curtis Chapman then you should love this new CD!

||Not the best but good enough|
Not the best Styx CD by far but good enough to be worthy of several back to back plays. Captain America could have been so much more and it perhaps the most dissapointing track. Top tip, leave the CD play at the end!

||A Different Styx ...|
Although I've enjoyed all of the Styx related albums (including solo projects by the various members) over the years, I feel that his is my least favorite. Although "Cyclorama" is a good album done by veteran rockers, it definitely lacks the signature artistry of former member, Dennis DeYoung, who was responsible for most of the band's commercial successes. Glen Burtnik's return to the band is welcome, but his songwriting prowess and pop sensibilities are obscurred this time around without the DeYoung leading the group. Edge of the Century (1990) was a much better collaboration, and Brave New World (1996) still retains the grandeur of the original Styx.

Cyclorama songs Being a Styx fan from, well... let's just say from back in the day, I was a bit of a snob & thought that the original line (with the late geat J.C. ) up was the definitive line up. Next came the highly popular version of the band (4 triple platinum albums in a row) which is a fine version in deed, but beign an ex-Chitown boy I still prefered V.1. of Styx. Cyclorama album for sale Then 1 day I heard a the song "One With Everything", heard the distinct voice of Tommy Shaw & said, "What the hell was that"? This song alone made me get this disc. And surprie, surprise, I found myself asking that same question after almost every song. There is a little bit of everything on here. Besides the music you would expect these guys to make, there is a bunch of different kinds of stuff on here too!! And that's the best thing about this. So, instead of me telling you about every little twist & turn, I recommend you pick up a copy & find out for yourself.

||this is not the styx sound|
first off, i am 17 and i love the styx to death. they are my favorite band, but damn, this is not the styx sound that i know. if you think that this CD is good, your foolin yourself, your foolin yourself if you dont believe it. the music in this CD is like music nowadays- trash. the new styx can not do it without dennis. you can barely understand what their saying because they over did all the instruments. the old styx were perfect to understand becuase they had a little thing called rythm. the new styx should just stop because their mocking the real styx. what the heck is the "foolin" song all about, it is absolutly horrific. ima just stick to the greatest hits CDs.
