Fallen album Product Description
Fallen album by Evanescence was released Mar 04, 2003 on the Wind-Up label. Evanescence won the 2004 Grammy Award for Best New Artist. FALLEN was nominated for Album Of The Year and for Best Rock Album. "Bring Me To Life" won for Best Hard Rock Performance. The song was also nominated for Best Rock Song. Picture Tori Amos fronting Nickelback and you'll get an idea of the sound behind Evanescence, an Arkansas quartet whose introduction to the world came via the DAREDEVIL soundtrack. With its debut FALLEN, Evanescence further pushes the envelope on the aforementioned description, with frontwoman Amy Lee pouring her light-yet-strong vocals into the aggro-rock workout "Bring Me to Life" and industrial trip-hop of "My Last Breath." Although guitarists Ben Moody and John LeCompt leave no riff unplayed on hard-hitting cuts like "Going Under" and "Taking Over Me," Lee brings a nice balance to the table with her gorgeous piano runs, which come to the fore on the very Amos-like "Hello." The perfect balance of hard and soft is met on "Haunted" with its ambient nuance stoked by clattering beats and loops, crunching riffs, and the use of a children's choir. ...See Full Description

| Superb Debut Album I bought this album based on the songs on the Daredevil Album. My Immortal is just an incredible song. Bring me to Life is more indicative of the kind of music that this group is better known for, and the album has a great mixture of slow acoustic songs and hard rock music. Can only imagine what a live performance would be like! Whether you like hard rock or slower lighter songs, there is something here to suit all types. A great album, and hopefully the first of many! | Evanescence "FALLEN" Still Rises I am an Evanescence fan, thanks in part to this albulm. Since discovering them, I have invested in most all of their work. including very rare releases & other unknown to most works. "Fallen" initially was put in the contemporary Christian genre, as such other artists like Creed, for example. This was just part of the early intrigue, as this expanded the audience & ultimately created a timepiece that captured the attention around the world. Amy Lee's early choir & classical piano, & brilliant songwriting talent are the foundation of their sound, combining elements of angelic & bewitching, a beautiful richness that shines on ballads & edgier guitar runs. The "goth" is a reflection of beauty in darkness, a reakoning of a suffering heart to know reason & comfort. The notion that this band came around & became popular result of "manufactured, MTV, goth-wannabe", is not a fair recollection in regards to amazing songwriting for years. collaborated with former member Ben Moody. The end result is a talent finally recognized, awarded, loved, & followed all over the world. By EdenRose02 (Lisa, SC) |

| Original Goth inspired rock. I liked every song on this CD. This group rocks. I wish they had a more widespread tour set up. They played a very small venue in Orlando and it sold out months ago :( Evanescence is in a level of cool all by themselves. By jimd62358 (Orlando) |
