The first and most thrilling chapter in the Hannibal Lecter Trilogy, starrring Anthony Hopkins, Edward Norton, Ralph Fiennes, Harvey Keitel. Based on the novel by Thomas Harris, RED DRAGON stars Edward Norton as Will Graham, the intuitive FBI agent who captured the notorious Hannibal "the Cannibal" Lecter (Anthony Hopkins). When another killer, dubbed "the Tooth Fairy," begins a series of bizarre, seemingly random killings, the now-retired Graham reluctantly agrees to aid in the investigation. In order to get further into the mind set of the murderer, Graham consults the imprisoned Lecter, who offers cryptic commentary that the determined agent must decipher. However, the Tooth Fairy himself, Francis Dolarhyde (Ralph Fiennes), is also in contact with the infamous epicurean, and the case soon develops into a deadly cat-and-mouse game, with Lecter deviously playing both sides.
Rather than attempting to remake MANHUNTER--Michael Mann's 1986 adaptation of RED DRAGON starring William L. Petersen as Graham and Brian Cox as Lecter--or recreate the monster-movie atmosphere of HANNIBAL, director Brett Ratner wisely chooses to focus on the character-driven specifics of the first Hannibal Lecter novel. As in THE SILENCE OF THE LAMBS, the unblinking Hopkins makes the most out of his screen time as the eloquent yet terrifying former forensic psychologist. Norton is excellently understated as the talented investigator, while Fiennes explores the full range of his conflicted character, from a sensitive man-child to a methodical psychopath. These key performances are enhanced by strong supporting turns by Emily Watson, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Harvey Keitel, and Mary-Louise Parker. Ratner's capable direction extends to his choice of crew, which includes SILENCE OF THE LAMBS screenwriter Ted Tally and production designer Kristen Zea, as well as MANHUNTER cinematographer Dante Spinotti. This collection of talent combines to create an engaging and eerie thriller that brings the Hopkins-as-Lecter trilogy full circle. -- Mike Clark, USA Today "...Hannibal Lecter scores again in RED DRAGON....Inescapably creepy....An intense, unnerving experience..."

Red Dragon Movie Review Average Rating: (4.5 out of 5 stars) Highly recommended If you're looking for a story of psycho killers. Great plotting, great acting for all the casts, nice picture and so exiting from start until end. Submitted by ramirez (Sydney, Australia) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
Almost ties with Silence Of The Lambs....almost After seeing Hannibal, I was almost certain the "Hannibal Lechter" saga was finished. That film insulted its predecessor "Silence Of The Lambs." "Red Dragon," however, restored my faith that the story is worth a trilogy. This time around, the director takes us back to tell us the story of Hannibal Lechter before his encounter with Agent Starling. In this episode, Hannibal helps a young FBI agent track a delusional serial killer and tries to get inside the agent's head at the same time. (The usual Dr. Lecther practice.) This film is full of suspence and will keep even the toughest movie buff entertained from start to finish. Ed Norton is great, ofcourse, and Anthony Hopkins still has the magic "Lechter" touch. I saw this movie in the theater and had to buy it on DVD. I give it 4 stars and I recommend you pick this up for your collection. $6.39 Closed Captioned; Additional Footage; Bio/Filmographies; Soundtrack English; Dir/Cast Commentary
In what may go down in history as the most irresponsible, outrageous footage ever to be released by a major Hollywood studio, Paramount Pictures presents JACKASS: THE MOVIE. Based on the MTV show of the same name, creators and coproducers Jeff Tremaine, Johnny Knoxville, and Spike Jonze stretch their surprisingly successful concept into a feature-length film. Watch cast regulars Knoxville, Steve-O, Chris Pontius, Bam Margera, Dave England, Ryan Dunn, Jason "Wee Man" Acuna, Preston Lacy, Ehren McGehey, and Brandon Dicamillo as they perform a series of ridiculously dangerous and dangerously stupid stunts. Entering a rental car in a ...

$6.55 Controversial rapper Eminem (real name Marshall Mathers) makes his big screen debut with 8 MILE, a bracing drama directed by the increasingly audacious Curtis Hanson. Set in 1995 in the bleak, urban battle zone of Detroit, the film follows the struggles of a young man who is desperate to make a better life for himself. Jimmy Smith, Jr., better known as Rabbit, is destined for a life of squalor. Living in a cramped trailer with his deadbeat mom (Kim Basinger), Rabbit works in a factory to make ends meet. His only outlet is hip-hop. Possessing a talent for freestyle rapping, Rabbit still hasn't managed to unleash his true potential. But his best friend, ...

$7.95 In the midst of a 1962 pleasure cruise, the passengers and crew of Italian luxury liner the Antonia Graza are systematically slaughtered and left in pieces by a gang of terrorists. Forty years later, the ship is spotted drifting in the Bering sea. Fresh off a six-month journey, an Alaska-based seafaring salvage team lead by Murphy (Gabriel Byrne) and Epps (Julianna Margulies) are approached by a Canadian weather spotter (Desmond Harrington) who noticed the derelict vessel on a flyover. Tempted by the possibility of untold riches, the crew takes on the job of tracking down the ship. Once aboard though, strange things start to happen, beginning with Epps's sighting of the ghost of a little girl. After the team finds a cache of gold, all hell breaks loose, and the angry ghosts make themselves known--and begin destroying the intruders one by one.
Purely and simply a floating haunted house tale, GHOST SHIP is a creepy thrill ride that compensates for its lack of originality with some creepy art direction and a number of very ...
| | Lisa Marie Presley To Whom It May Concern CD (2003)
Red Dragon video
$13.95 Bearing the brunt of being Elvis Presley's only child, Lisa Marie Presley wisely chose to sit back and experience life before emerging with her full-length debut album TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN. The results are surprisingly good, thanks to Presley's decision to sidestep becoming some prefabricated pop mannequin and instead take the creative reigns by penning all the lyrics, save the lament "The Road Between." Most of the record is steeped in dark imagery that goes well with her smoky phrasing and finds her serving up autobiographical tidbits like "Someone turned the lights out there in Memphis/That's where my family's buried and gone" from the mid-tempo rock of "Lights Out." A slow-burn vitriol that could be construed as being directed at former spouse Michael Jackson bubbles up throughout the simmering "Important," and will surely have amateur biographers cocking their ears. Lisa Marie avoids making this musical outing one solely steeped in bitterness by including "So Lovely," a sweet ode to her children that's laced with crying guitar and a snatch of the theme from the film MIDNIGHT COWBOY.
