| | Judds Heart Land CD Judds Discography of CDs
One of the Judds' most successful releases, fourth album HEART LAND finds them smack dab in the middle of their commercial and artistic peak period. It spawned no less than three Number One country hits in the jubilant, hip-shaking "I Know Where I'm Going," the slow-burning, soulful "Maybe Your Baby's Got the Blues," and the bluesy, good-time "Turn It Loose," with a peppy cover of the Elvis Presley classic "Don't Be Cruel" following close behind. Throughout the album, the close harmonies of Naomi Judd and her daughter Wynonna create one of the most distinctive sounds to come out of Nashville in that era, while the arrangements seamlessly mix country, pop, and rock & roll flavors together, with consistent, hitmaking results.
The Judd's 1987 album reissued on Curb Records for a super low price. 2003.
Recorded at Creative Workshop, Inc., Nashville, Tennessee.

Heart Land album
$7.55 STARKERS IN TOKYO captures Whitesnake, live in concert in Japan.
Whitesnake's grip on the U.S. record-buying public may have lessened considerably by the late '90s, but in other parts of the world (especially Japan), David Coverdale and company still reigned supreme. Keeping in step with the unplugged craze of the decade, Coverdale and longtime guitarist Adrian Vandenberg united for such a performance in the land of the rising sun, resulting in the release of 1998's Starkers in Tokyo. Anyone wondering if Coverdale can still cut it vocally all these years later will be pleasantly surprised -- the bloke can still sing splendidly, as the duo perform selections from throughout the singer's career. Expectedly, the ballads sound the best in this stripped-down ...
| | Carter Family 1927-1934 CDs (2002) (Import) United Kingdom
Heart Land CD music
$25.79 A comprehensive budget compilation by the dependable JSP label, the five-disc 1927-1934 fully covers the first seven years of the Carter Family's musical career and features recordings that are the basis of the trio's honored place in the country music firmament. The set starts, appropriately enough, with the Carters' six contributions to Ralph Peer's legendary 1927 recording sessions in Bristol, Tennessee, and then chronologically wades through every released side that A.P., Sara, and Maybelle recorded for RCA Victor. (This excludes alternate takes that are readily available on Rounder and Bear Family reissues covering the same era.)
Unlike similar collections, where much of the listening intrigue comes from charting the artists' ...
| | Judds Rockin' With The Rhythm CD (1985)
Heart Land music CDs
$7.29 True to its title, the Judds' blockbuster third album, ROCKIN' WITH THE RHYTHM, is indeed one of the multi-platinum mother-daughter country duo's most rocking albums. While there are some poignant ballads that show off Naomi and Wynonna Judd's pipes to fine effect ("Grandpa [Tell Me 'Bout the Good Old Days], "Dream Chaser"), tunes like the bluesy "Have Mercy," and the rockabilly-inflected title track prove that the Judds were ...
| | Judds Why Not Me CD (1984)
Heart Land songs
$5.95 Bobby Ogdin, Gene Sisk (piano); Jack Williams (bass); Eddie Bayers (drums).
After a pair of hit singles (including the #1 country smash "Mama He's Crazy"), the Judds released their full-length debut in early 1984 and quickly became one of the biggest acts in country music. WHY NOT ME is an impressive debut for the mother-daughter duo of Naomi and Wynnona Judd. Unlike many country albums of the era, it doesn't sound particularly dated in retrospect, ...

| | Wilf Carter Montana Slim: A Prairie Legend CDs (1996) (Import) Box Set; Germany
Heart Land songs
$104.45 Four CDs containing more than 100 songs recorded by Wilf Carter aka Montana Slim between 1944 and 1952, and his self-produced sessions from 1959. Disc one features more than a dozen tracks with Carter accompanied primarily by his own acoustic guitar, and they're pretty fair cowboy songs. Carter's voice is a pleasing one, reminiscent at times of Gene Autry, but his repertory generally doesn't intersect much with Autry's -- the early electric-accompanied sides from 1947 are also very spare and have more of a raw quality than one would expect from this era. Disc two captures Carter at the beginning of his most commercial period for RCA, doing romantic ballads as well as his usual cowboy songs. Disc three covers the tail end of his RCA period, when Carter was trying for more of a pop sound, in keeping with the declining public ...
