Closed Captioned; Standard Screen; Soundtrack English; Soundtrack Spanish; English Subtitles Kevin is an unassuming Beverly Hills high school teacher by day, but by night he helps East Los Angeles dropouts meet the requirements for their equivalency exam in the backroom of a lambada club. To gain the respect of these toughs, Kevin must first strut his stuff on the dance floor, where unexpectedly, he has the hippest moves around. When one of his sexy Beverly Hills students learns of his secret night identity, the plot thickens, and his hot dancing is the cause of some steamy sexual intrigue. A school teacher by day gathers with a group of students at night to dance the lambada. He uses his dazzling dance moves to gain their respect and to accept academics in the classroom. Cashing in on the brief craze for Lambada (a form of Brazilian dance and music), several movie studios put out Lambada-themed films. Others include "Lambada" (1990), "The Forbidden Dance" (1990), and "Lambada: The Sound of Love" (1990).
Also known as "Lambada... Le Film." The working title for the film was "Lambada: Set the Night on Fire."

Lambada review
$5.69 Rafael Infante (Chayanne), a Cuban native who never met his real father, immigrates to America. Taking up residence in Houston, he begins searching for his illegitimate father and takes up employment as a superintendent at the world renowned Excelsior Dance Studio run by John Burnett (Kris Kristofferson). While working as a lowly handyman, Rafael meets Ruby (Vanessa Williams), a striking dancer. Together they enter into the Las Vegas World Open Dance competition and embark in a heated romance.
DANCE WITH ME is a warm heartfelt film. It exhibits Randa Haines' knack for suspenseful, romantic storytelling (she worked as a director on HILL STREET BLUES in the early 1980s). Kris Kristofferson departs from his standard role of grit-iron tough guy to play the effeminate dance instructor. Chayanne is striking and dapper. He demonstrates that dancing is both a sexy art form and a mode of expression for confident and empowered men.
DVD. Feature film. Stars Vanessa L. Williams, Chayanne, & Kris Kristofferson. Rated PG. 125 min.

| | Munsters - The Complete First Season DVDs (1964) Full Frame
Lambada movie DVD
$26.39 Bursting onto screens in the early 1960s, THE MUNSTERS offered a skewed, yet hilarious, visualization of a less than wholesome family unit. The pale and deathly-looking set of characters were loosely based on a number of popular figures from horror films, and included: Head of the family, Herman Munster (Fred Gwynne); His demure wife Lily (Yvonne DeCarlo); Grandpa (Al Lewis); Herman and Lily's son, Eddie (Butch Patrick), and their niece Marilyn (Beverley Owen). Plenty of laughs were provided as the group of misfits attempted to assimilate themselves into society, although most of the chuckles were to be found at the gag-fuelled ghouls' highly gothic-looking residence, 1313 Mockingbird Lane. This release presents the entire first season of the classic show.
This DVD multidisc set includes 38 episodes and the original never-before-seen pilot episode.

$10.45 Sam Raimi's follow-up to SPIDER-MAN finds Peter Parker (Tobey Maguire) struggling to balance his everyday life with his alter ego as the web-slinging superhero. Still carrying the burden of keeping his crime-fighting identity from those closest to him--including his longtime love Mary Jane Watson (Kirsten Dunst), his best friend Harry Osborn (James Franco), and his doting Aunt May (Rosemary Harris)--Parker must also face off against a dangerous new menace, Dr. Otto Octavius (Alfred Molina), a scientist driven mad by experiments involving powerful mechanical arms. When the deranged Octavius (AKA Doc Ock) forms an alliance with the vengeful Osborn, who blames Spider-Man for the death of his father, the wall-crawling hero is in for his biggest battle yet.
With SPIDER-MAN 2, Raimi retains--and improves on--all of the elements that made the first film so good, including an excellent story (crafted, in part, by acclaimed novelist Michael Chabon), tight pacing, and stunning special effects. Parker's internal conflicts are even greater than before, and Maguire adds emotional depth to every scene. Returning actors Dunst, Franco, Harris, and J.K. Simmons (once again portraying Parker's tough-talking boss, J. Jonah Jameson) are all pitch-perfect in their roles, and, as the once-noble Octavius, Molina is remarkable, relishing his villainous lines, while giving the character a surprisingly vulnerable side. Throughout the movie, Raimi expertly balances drama and humor with dynamic action sequences, making SPIDER-MAN 2 feel more like a continuation of the original tale rather than an obligatory sequel. For a Hollywood movie, that's a real feat.
The Spider-Man 2 Special Edition DVD features the following:
Disc One
- Commentary with director Sam Raimi, Tobey Maguire, producer Avi Arad and co-producer Grant Curtis
- Technical Commentary
- Blooper Reel
- Spidey Sense 2 Trivia track with "pop-up" facts and trivia about the film and the worl
