Dark Side of the Moon album by Pink Floyd was released Mar 25, 2003 on the Capitol label. By condensing the sonic explorations of Meddle to actual songs and adding a lush, immaculate production to their trippiest instrumental sections, Pink Floyd inadvertently designed their commercial breakthrough with Dark Side of the Moon. The primary revelation of Dark Side of the Moon is what a little focus does for the band. Dark Side of the Moon music CDs Roger Waters wrote a series of songs about mundane, everyday details which aren't that impressive by themselves, but when given the sonic backdrop of Floyd's slow, atmospheric soundscapes and carefully placed sound effects, they achieve an emotional resonance. Dark Side of the Moon songs But what gives the album true power is the subtly textured music, which evolves from ponderous, neo-psychedelic art rock to jazz fusion and blues-rock before turning back to psychedelia. It's dense with detail, but leisurely paced, creating its own dark, haunting world. Pink Floyd may have better albums than Dark Side of the Moon, but no other record defines them quite as well as this one. SACD Rules
Not much to say about perhaps one of the best music CD's ever made, except that this is the Sony Super Audio CD version (SACD). Holy cow....I am amazed when played on the proper SACD equipment, it simply blows away the original 2 channel stereo version. Speaking of which, this CD will play on any SACD or REGULAR CD player, and in 2 channel mode, it also sounds much improved over the original. If you like Pink Floyd, and you enjoy this CD, buy this version and sit back and relax!!

The lunatic is my head.
WOW The best music for forgetting the world and locking it away, just got better. My forth copy of this recording. 8-track, analoge, Mobile Fidelity Sound Analoge and now this SACD hybrid. Thanks for making this hybrid I can listen in car and at home a great format. All SACD's should be done this way. The louder it gets (in SACD mode) the quiter it sounds. Quite an accomplishment.

Best version ever !
This classic album has reached new heights with the SACD release. For every Pink Floyd or muisc fan, this is simply a must ! Excellent quality, excellent sound !! Only one drawback...... Alan Parsons didn't engineer this release :-(
