(1 Customer Review)
Mexican rockers El Gran Silencio have a grand old time making mincemeat of the establishment. Offering an eclectic weave of thrash, polka, hip-hop, rock, vallenato and more, the young upstarts from Monterey rap, croon and holler their way through their major label debut, LIBRES Y LOCOS. Theirs is a gleeful sort of discord, displaying both a love for tradition and a strong propensity for smashing it to pieces. Think of the hybrid ferments of Ozomatli and Cafe Tacuba, the darkness of Cypress Hill and the boisterous clamor of Southern California punk, and you'll be on the right track. El Gran Silencio's stomping themes of love, loss and all that comes unhinged should inspire urban low-riders and chilango skate-punks alike.

AMERICAN GRAFFITI presents a powerful collage of youth on the brink of maturity just before the assassination of J.F.K.. Based on George Lucas's own teenage hot-rodding days in Modesto, California, this brilliant, bittersweet comedy inspired numerous other productions, including the long-running TV series HAPPY DAYS. Lucas's second feature film (following THX 1138), AMERICAN GRAFFITI contains an early screen appearance ...

Libres Y Locos album
$10.29 With the release of Robert Altman's M*A*S*H in 1970, a new form of comedy was born, one that would help to forever change the face of cinema. Altman's audacious film reflected the American counterculture's growing distrust of religion and government in the late 1960s and early 1970s, resulting in one of the biggest box office smashes of its time. Introducing the techniques he would employ throughout his storied career--overlapping dialogue, a constantly moving camera with a heavy amount of zooming, and a bold combination of frank subject ...

Perhaps frustrated by the lack of commercial success Imperial Bedroom encountered, Elvis Costello enlisted British hitmakers Clive Langer and Alan Winstanley to produce its follow-up, Punch the Clock. The difference between the two records is immediately noticeable. Punch the Clock has a slick, glossy surface, complete with layered synthesizers, ...
