Texas Outlaws Music Review Average Rating: (5 out of 5 stars)  A good cd for your collection
Texas Outlaws is what the name suggests - a collection of songs by great Texas ‘outlaw’ songwriters. It’s a solid album, which includes Pat Green, Robert Earl Keen, Billy Joe Shaver, Roger Creager, and a surprising rap duet by Willie Nelson and Lil’ Black. There are 18 songs on this record, some of which are live and others that are studio recordings, in addition to several previously unreleased tracks. They play together very well however, and all in all is a good album for your collection.

I recieved this CD as a gift for Christmas last year. I haven't stopped listening to it for almost a year. It contains a lot of covers of the old greats, along with new and unreleased songs. This is definately a CD you need if you like country music.

This album, however, has revealed to me what a fine composer he is too. He clearly has a knack for the memorable riff and a fine sense of structure to boot. The music on this record is pointing towards one of the places where i think jazz should be going. There's a strong jazz core to "Smokin' da Bone", but it also pays more than lip service to some lovely grooves of the world - a lot off funk (particularly of the southern variety), surf music, African, jazz-rock - and check out the haunting folkiness of Jeremy's conch shell playing on "Tune 4 Carls" and "Tugboat Luv Affair." . EXPOSED BONE VOL1 : SMOKIN' DA BONE ; January Limelight 2005 (ABC) by John Shand ; Does the trombone attract people who are exuberant by nature, or does it make normal people want to play exuberantly? Whatever the case, ex-Queenslander Jeremy Borthwick joins the rowdy ranks of good time bone players as a star member. He also proves himself to be a pretty good composer on this debut album, made in collaboration with guitarist Ben Hauptmann, bassist Zoe Hauptmann and drummer James Hauptmann - all siblings, and, like Borthwick, some of the young hot-shots on a Sydney scene that has never been more brimming with hotshots.
