| | Natalie Cole Anthology CD Natalie Cole Discography of CDs
(2 Customer Reviews)
As of 2006, Anthology was the most extensive Natalie Cole overview available, a two-disc set beginning with her first hit, 1975's "This Will Be (An Everlasting Love)" and ending with the previously unreleased "Sounds of a Happy Love." A handful of useful single-disc compilations have been released throughout the years, but this set offers a nearly perfect representation of her first several albums. Most of her significant singles are included, from the lush uptempo numbers ("Sophisticated Lady," "Mr. Melody") to the many ballads ("Inseparable," "Someone That I Used to Love," "I Can't Say No," "Good Morning Heartache," "I've Got Love on My Mind"). ~ Andy Kellman

Liner Note Author: David Nathan.

Anthology album
$18.05 Growing up among Afro-Americans in Berkeley, CA, Greek-American Johnny Otis (born John Veliotes) always identified strongly with people of color. Before he had attained the age of 20 he was gigging with black jazz bands throughout the Southwest, and eventually organized an ensemble deliberately patterned after Count Basie's orchestra. This highly charged album of historical musical artifacts documents the very beginning of Johnny Otis' recording career. With one apparently unobtainable exception, the Classics Blues & Rhythm Series has assembled all of Otis' Excelsior recordings, made in Los Angeles between 1945 and 1947. This provides background and context for his more well-known Savoy material, and indeed for everything this amazing person accomplished during the second half of the 20th century. Otis' first act as a recording bandleader was ...

Anthology CD music
$15.15 Recorded between 1994 & 2003. Includes liner notes by David Wild.
In the '90s, when Nirvana and Pearl Jam were popularizing angst-ridden grunge, Hootie & the Blowfish took sunny, all-American pop-rock to the top of the charts. This greatest-hits collection chronicles the band's first 10 years of stardom, and includes their ubiquitous chart smashes ("Hold My Hand," "Only Wanna Be With You," "Let Her Cry") as well as a few lesser-known tunes to fill out the sonic portrait of an American musical phenomenon.
17-track collection which contains all the hits -- including such covers as 54-40's 'I Go Blind' and Led Zeppelin's 'Hey Hey What Can I Do' .
Producers include: Don Gehman, Don Was, Pete Masitti, Spencer ...

Anthology music CDs
$15.19 This is a hybrid Super Audio CD playable on both regular and Super Audio CD players.
Released shortly after the death of guitar legend Duane Allman, EAT A PEACH occupies an important transitional spot in the Allman Brothers' discography. The leading three tracks, recorded after Duane's death, point the way toward the band's future. While still rooted in the group's blues-jam roots, these songs show the Allmans angling closer ...

| | Amber Naked CD (2002)
Anthology CD music
$14.49 Slowly gaining the sort of mass pop recognition that might cement her place as a true diva, Amber's third LP sees the German singer delivering the kind of stock 21st century dancefloor material that club patrons crave. "Yes!," the first single taken from the album, unknowingly follows Kate Bush's use of James Joyce's Ulysses for a portion of the song's lyrics. While Bush's interpretation of the text is decidedly more erotic, Amber's track is undeniably infectious and features all the standard club elements of the day: massive drums, sweeping synthesizer ...
