Last Days Of Frank And Jesse James Movie Review Average Rating: (4 out of 5 stars) The Last Days Of Frank & Jesse James: A Review Firstly I have to give a warning to European buyers, although this DVD is marked as Region Free, it is actually Region 1. It was lucky one of my players here in the UK played it.
Now onto the film, I have given it 4 Stars just because the cast consists of the late great Johnny Cash and fellow Highwayman Kris Kristofferson. Although Willie Nelson appears quite high up on the credits, he only has a short cameo near the end of the film. Although the film is very good and portrays the story of Frank & Jesse James quite very accurately, the only major flaw is the fact that Frank and Jesse were young men at the time of this film, and Johnny Cash is at least in his mid-fifties, which can cause a little bit of confusion here and there (for example "you're a young man Frank, you have you whole life ahead of you"... really??).
Other than that, fans of Johnny Cash, Kris Kristofferson, Westerns and biopics will probably really enjoy this film, and it's deffinitely worth a look. Submitted by kerley_uk (Bournemouth, Dorset, UK) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No

Frank & Jessie Johnny Cash is a bonafide American treasure. Kris Kristofferson the man of many talents without acclaim.
The movie has a smooth quality to it. You can tell that the two men are friends. If you are fimiliar with the two men you will see other friends and family that drop in for some camera time which is kind of a kick.
The production is outstanding. The scenes look authentic. The history of the events doesn't seem to far from true.
The film is fun to watch. Decent story line. Certainly one of the better Jessie James films from Hollywood.
The film howeve doesn't portray their violent nature. you see them as family men who just happen to be the most wanted men in the country. Submitted by a reviewer (Parkersburg, WV, USA) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No

Last Days Of Frank And Jesse James film
$7.89 As the film opens, Josey Wales is a simple farmer in Missouri. When a vicious band of Union Red Legs, led by Terrill (Bill McKinney), burns his home to the ground, killing his wife and son, Wales joins a gang of Confederate raiders, determined to get revenge. After the Confederacy loses the war, Wales sets out on his own, an outlaw who kills to survive. He eventually meets an old Indian (Chief Dan George, in a wonderfully sympathetic performance) and some other outcasts, and together they seek out a more peaceful existence. But Terrill continues to hunt Wales, and the simple farmer is forced to fight again. Critics did not take Clint Eastwood's THE OUTLAW JOSEY WALES seriously in 1976. Today, many consider it one of the greatest Westerns ever made. Here the West is an ugly and brutal place, as it is in Sergio Leone's films, but this is a different kind of Eastwood hero. He has a name, a sense of humor, and a heart. Made in the shadow of Vietnam and Watergate, the film conveys a bitter distrust of government but also a longing to live in peace. Next to UNFORGIVEN, this is the most sweeping and emotionally ...

Last Days Of Frank And Jesse James DVD
$9.89 In Robert Aldrich's hysterical comedic Western THE FRISCO KID, a sweetly innocent Polish rabbi, Avram Belinsky (Gene Wilder), travels through 1850s America toward his new congregation and wife in San Francisco. Along the way, he forms an uneasy alliance with an inept bank robber, Tommy (Harrison Ford). As Avram teaches Tommy about the Torah, Tommy instructs Avram on how to handle a gun, and the two cut a meandering, pratfall-filled path across the wild West, encountering Indians, settlers, and merciless outlaws. Aldrich (TOO LATE THE HERO, WHAT EVER HAPPENED TO BABY JANE?), a master of the penetrating psychodrama, the rousing war saga, and the icy, violent noir, here slips the standard Western concoction a dizzying, hilarious mickey of slapstick humor with his ...
