| | Rick Nelson All Time Greatest Hits CD Rick Nelson Discography of CDs
(3 Customer Reviews)
Titling Rick Nelson's entry in Collectables' budget best-of series, Priceless Collections, All Time Greatest Hits may be a bit of a stretch, as it doesn't include Nelson's comeback smash "Garden Party," but it comes very close nonetheless. The tracks are taken from early in Nelson's career when he was still a convincing rocker and include great rockabilly tracks like "Be-Bop Baby," "Waitin in School," and "If You Can't Rock Me"; teen ballads like "Stood Up," "It's Late," and "Hello Mary Lou"; and one of the saddest, most haunting songs ever recorded, "Lonesome Town." At only 12 tracks, the disc rushes by far too quickly, but it does serve as a good introduction to the work of one of the most underrated early rockers. However, you are going to want more Rick Nelson once you hear him, so you might as well spend a couple bucks more and get a hold of a longer compilation, like Capitol's Greatest Hits from 2001, which covers much more of Nelson's career, or Ace's Rockin' With Ricky, which has 32 of his best rock & roll sides. ~ Tim Sendra
Featuring these top selling hits, 'Hello Mary Lou', 'Stood Up', 'Believe What You Say' and more. 2003 Collectables reissue originally released in 1989. All Time Greatest Hits album
$11.79 This remastering combines two albums, THIS TIME I'M SWINGIN' and PRETTY BABY, featuring 25 iconic ballads from Dean Martin, such as "You're Nobody Til Somebody Loves You" and "Heaven Can Wait."
This British two-fer combines Dean Martin's fourth (This Time I'm Swingin'!, 1960) and second (Pretty Baby, 1957) regular studio albums onto one CD. The later album, heard first, was Martin's initial collaboration with conductor/arranger Nelson Riddle. It was an easy, swinging collection with appealing horn charts and a series of comfortable readings of recent and vintage standards. Especially notable were the two songs borrowed from My Fair Lady, "On the Street Where You Live" and "I've Grown Accustomed ...

| | 20th Century Masters: The Millennium Collection: The Best Of Kiss Vol. 2 CD (2004)
All Time Greatest Hits album
$8.09 The majority of Kiss hits collections to surface since the late '90s (and boy, have there been a truckload of them) have focused primarily on the group's makeup years, which is understandable since that's when the dudes smeared the grease paint back on. But for the most part, their unmasked years have been glossed over on subsequent hits collections (or included in small quantities). 2004's 20th Century Masters - The Millennium Collection: The Best of Kiss, Vol. 2 is the first Kiss collection ever to primarily focus on their non-makeup era, covering the years 1982 through 1990. While this certainly wasn't Kiss' finest era -- neither commercially (with Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley the only original members left by this point, Kiss saw their fan base dwindle considerably since their '70s heyday) nor musically (the group seemed ...

All Time Greatest Hits music CDs
$11.99 Released in 2007 a good 30 to 35 years after glam's heyday, this slice of glam revivalism is just about as over-the-top as you'd expect from the back cover photo of a gold-suited band in various states of kinky dress. Not many tricks are missed in the music: the lead vocals (by Muffy Kroha) have a breathlessly preening, upper-register yelping quality, the backup singing often motors things along with chants, and the arrangements have a brash campy guitar pop attack. The utter lack of original material does make you feel as though ...
