Eagles Very Best Of CDs (2003) Top Seller
Meet Me in Margaritaville: The Ultimate Collection CD music THE VERY BEST OF includes a 46-page booklet with pictures and track information.
"Hole In The World" was nominated for the 2004 Grammy Award for Best Pop Performance By A Duo Or Group With Vocal.
The Eagles' founders Don Henley and Glenn Frey were forthright in their desire to bring then-emerging country rock to new heights of commercial success. Formed in Los Angeles in 1971, they learned from their observations of the scene around them, and subsequently took their music to the top of the charts. They stayed there throughout the '70s, becoming synonymous with the sound of Southern California rock.
The band's first hit was with a song by Jackson Browne, and their first album also included a cover of "Ol' 55" by Tom Waits, but the bulk of the material they're known for was penned by Henley and Frey. This two-disc set wisely expands the original VERY BEST OF collection with important album tracks that have also long been band staples and favorites (such as the aforementioned Waits tune and a number of other songs from their pre-platinum first three releases). As is often the common industry-wide practice, there's also a new song, "Hole in the World."
A 2-CD retrospective from the multiplatinum superstars whose 1976 "Greatest Hits" is the #1 album of all time! Special Limited Edition bonus DVD included with a music video, outtakes from the video and backstage pass to Farewell 1.
Initial pressings included a bonus DVD.
Recorded between 1972 & 2003.

Elton John Greatest Hits 1970-2002 CDs (2002) Top Seller
Meet Me in Margaritaville: The Ultimate Collection buy CD music Initial pressings of this first edition contain a bonus disc.
Recorded between 1970 & 2002. Includes liner notes by Paul Gambaccini.
Greatest Hits 1970-2002 is a nearly flawless double-disc set commemorating Elton John's three-decade career. Disc one features what may arguably be John's most essential work: Seeing songs such as "Saturday Night's Alright for Fighting," "Goodbye Yellow Brick Road," "Candle in the Wind," and "Bennie and the Jets" -- not to mention "Your Song," "Rocket Man," and "Tiny Dancer" -- lined up back to back reaffirms just how diverse, and yet universal, his songwriting talent is. Disc two finds this talent maturing gracefully into the '80s, '90s, and beyond, touching on pop gems like "Don't Go Breaking My Heart," "I'm Still Standing," and "I Guess That's Why They Call It the Blues" as well as his Lion King classic "Can You Feel the Love Tonight?" and the Aida duet "Written in the Stars" with LeAnn Rimes. The collection also finds room for the highlights of his most recent albums, including Made in England's "Believe" and "Blessed," The Big Picture's "Something About the Way You Look Tonight," and Songs from the West Coast's "This Train Don't Stop Here Anymore." For most casual fans, Greatest Hits 1970-2002 will replace the need for collections such as Greatest Hits, Greatest Hits, Vol. 2, and Greatest Hits, Vol. 3, although these collections are still worthwhile as of-their-time retrospectives of John's work. ~ Heather Phares

Who Ultimate Collection CDs (2002) Top Seller
Meet Me in Margaritaville: The Ultimate Collection songs Initial pressings of THE ULTIMATE COLLECTION included a limited edition bonus disc featuring four previously unreleased tracks.
Recorded between November 1964 and June 1982. Includes liner notes by Matt Kent and Andy Neill.
When it comes to a ground-breaking, iconic band like the Who, dubbing an anthology THE ULTIMATE COLLECTION is no small claim. The kicker here is that it happens to be the truth. Without venturing into the realm of the box set, there's never been such a definitive batch of Who tunes all under one roof before. Virtually all the bases are covered here, from such attitude-laden mid-'60s mod anthems as "My Generation" and "Anyway, Anyhow, Anywhere" to the conceptual expansiveness of TOMMY-era tunes ("I'm Free," "See Me Feel Me"). We get the full-on long-haired, bare-chested glory of the early '70s ("Won't Get Fooled Again") as well as the tapered, synth-flecked smartness of the early '80s ("Eminence Front," "You Better You Bet." For someone looking for an entry point into the work of this larger-than-life group, or just somebody who wants a great all-purpose who disc, THE ULTIMATE COLLECTION is truly a case of truth in advertising. Get one.
Keith Moon, Kenney Jones (drums).

Boats, Beaches, Bars & Ballads CDs (1992)
Meet Me in Margaritaville: The Ultimate Collection CD music Digitally remastered at Future Disc Systems, W. Hollywood, California.
Compiles material from Buffett's albums (1970-1990) and some unreleased songs. Includes extensive liner notes, a track-by-track description by Jimmy Buffett, and color photos.
With sell-out concerts year after year and an empire incorporating everything from best-selling books to a restaurant chain, singer/songwriter Jimmy Buffett transformed himself an icon of laid-back, island-dwelling eccentricity. Buffett revels in the world of life's merry dropouts, of beach bums, sailors, barflies, nomads, and minstrels. His box set, BOATS, BEACHES, BARS & BALLADS, cleverly divides his gargantuan catalogue into major themes, offering up four distinct discs that celebrate the subtly varied aspects of his aesthetic.
The BOATS section is dominated by more wistful songs, with occasional gusts of wind like "Changes in Latitudes, Changes in Attitudes" and an excellent cover of "On a Slow Boat to China." BEACHES starts fittingly wasted away in his Top 10 moment, "Margaritaville," and is followed by a mix of joy and pain that ends in Buffett's unforgettable novelty hit, "Cheeseburger in Paradise." Naturally, BARS is the most raucous set, peppered with rockers ("Fins"), sing-alongs ("Why Don't We Get Drunk"), and wistful nostalgia ("Pencil Thin Mustache"). Topping off this excellent compilation, BALLADS sums up the oft-forgotten depth of Buffett's storytelling, opening with the extraordinary beauty of "Come Monday" and flipping through a scrapbook of quiet elegance.

Banana Wind CD (1996)
Meet Me in Margaritaville: The Ultimate Collection buy CD music Jimmy Buffett & The Coral Reef Band: Jimmy Buffett (vocals, acoustic guitar); Mac McAnally (vocals, acoustic guitar, mandolin); Peter Mayer (vocals, acoustic guitar); Claudia Cummings, Tina Gullickson, Nadirah Shakoor (vocals); Greg "Fingers" Taylor (harmonica); Amy Lee, Thom Mitchell (saxophone); John Lovell (trumpet); Michael Utley (piano); Jim Mayer (vocals, upright bass, acoustic bass); Roger Guth (drums); Robert Greenidge (steel drums, percussion); Ralph MacDonald (percussion).
The latitude and the attitude are the same, you'll be happy to hear. The good-natured, laid-back guy who has put out almost an album a year for 25 years is back again. Buffett has a world-wide following of Parrot Heads, probably because he keeps giving 'em what they want. In this case, that's Caribbean-flavored, blues-based pop, a mellow approach, and an eye for a good story. This is wiggle-your-toes in the warm tropical water music--safe, happy (usually) and pleasant.
Buffett does manage to put an edge on some of his tunes, especially when they reflect personal travails. "Jamaica Mistaica" is a lighthearted look at a little, ahem, misunderstanding with some island law-enforcement personnel. He sounds downright angry in "Overkill," which takes a shot at materialism and the mansion-on-the-hill crowd. This slightly goofy, heart-on-the-sleeve pop should have appeal for Parrot Heads and newcomers alike.
