The orchestra’s unprecedented rhythmic force is provided by the extraordinary bass team of Michel Godard and Dave Bargeron (an American legend since his recordings for Blood Sweat & Tears). When Rabih Abou-Khalil rehearsed his band in New York prior to the recording of the companion CD, it became evident that the visual potential of this group was also unusual. The regular 5.1 DVD technique positions the viewer in front of the orchestra, but ENJA’s 6-channel version has the viewer move within the band, taking an active part in the music.
