| | Big Wu Spring Reverb CD Big Wu Discography of CDs
Jam band the Big Wu formed on the campus of St. Olaf College in Northfield, MN in 1992 around the nucleus of singer/guitarist Chris Castino, guitarist Jason Fladager and drummer Terry VanDeWalker. Channeling a wide range of influences including bluegrass, rock, jazz, psychedelia and R&B, the group built a strong local following thanks to a rigorous live schedule, adding bassist Andy Miller in 1995 and keyboardist Al Oikari a year later. In early 1996 the Big Wu also landed their first weekly gig at Minneapolis' Terminal Bar, solidifying their fanbase and scoring a spot on the following year's H.O.R.D.E. Festival. Their debut album Tracking Buffalo Through the Bathtub appeared that autumn, and was reissued by the Big Wu's new label Phoenix Rising in 1999. Folktales followed a year later. ~ Jason Ankeny, All Music Guide

Spring Reverb
$6.39 This audio document of The Corrs' Dublin homecoming concert has pretty much everything fans of Irish pop could wish for, including an appearance from Bono in his earthly incarnation, fresh from an audience with President George W. Bush. It's to the band's credit that the charismatic singer fails to steal the show, despite creditable efforts via an anthemized version of Ryan Adams' beautifully downtempo "When the Stars Go Blue," and a great, leering rendition of Lee Hazlewood and Nancy Sinatra's "Summer Wine."
Somewhat more mysteriously, Rolling Stone Ron Wood also turns up on what sounds dangerously close to a lounge version of ...
| | Drive-By Truckers Southern Rock Opera CDs (2001) Digipak
Spring Reverb
$11.99 A sprawling two-disc set, the Drive-By Truckers' SOUTHERN ROCK OPERA is a cracked masterpiece that's enjoyable on several different levels. Hipsters might enjoy the giggly premise of a two-disc set devoted to a slightly altered retelling of the rise and fall of 1970s Southern rock icons Lynyrd Skynyrd. Progressive rock fans lamenting the modern era's relative lack of story-driven albums divided into "Act I" and "Act II" will latch onto SOUTHERN ROCK OPERA with the same passion with which they embraced THE LAMB LIES DOWN ON ...
| | Marshall Tucker Band Where We All Belong CD (1974) Bonus Tracks; Remastered
Spring Reverb
$10.69 Originally released on Capricorn Records (0145). Includes liner notes by Barry Alfonso.
Although it runs a little long, Where We All Belong captures the sound of The Marshall Tucker Band coming into its own. Half the tracks are new studio recordings, which are more focused than their previous releases; the other half is a harder-edged, jam-oriented live set. Taken together, they show that the band was progressing musically. ~ Stephen Thomas Erlewine

| | Gov't Mule Deja Voodoo CD (2004)
Spring Reverb
$7.99 DEJA VOODOO serves as a comeback for Gov't Mule, who lost founding member Allen Woody in August 2000. Bandmates Warren Haynes and Matt Abts carried on with a search to fill Woody's shoes, and this led to live recordings featuring guest bassists on each cut. This studio outing welcomes the arrival of former Black Crowes bass player Andy Hess and keyboardist Danny Louis, whose entry transforms the Mule into a quartet, upping the creative potential for all involved.
Being the consummate musician that he is, Haynes guides this potent ensemble down a wide-ranging path. Wielding his ever-present slide, the in-demand guitarist pours plenty of soulful playing into the country-tinged ...
| | Dredg Catch Without Arms CD (2005)
Spring Reverb
$8.49 Early on, critics often described Dredg as a metal group. However, the quartet has since matured into a hard-edged indie-rock ensemble that seeks diversity and refinement in its music. On CATCH WITHOUT ARMS, the band favors highly orchestrated parts, dense guitar riffs, and powerful drumming. Each song is based around memorable vocal hooks and sensitive lyrical content.
Many tracks on CATCH ...
