Powerage album Product Description
Powerage album by AC / DC was released Apr 29, 2003 on the Epic label. This is a Hyper CD, which contains regular audio tracks and also provides a link to the artist's website with the help of a web browser. With AC/DC's third release, POWERAGE, the band was dispensing even heftier ammo from their hook-laden cartridge belt. Powerage songs With the rock-steady rhythm section pounding out 4/4 beats as if it were overtaking a small country, guitarists (and brothers) Angus and Malcolm Young trade towering riffs that belie their pint-sized physical stature. The real change on POWERAGE is a noted improvement in songwriting skill. The six-minute "Down Payment Blues" actually has a sense of restraint and building tension, as opposed to the band's usual hit-the-ground running approach. "Sin City," an ode to Las Vegas, features the band's most colorful lyrics (that don't have to do with bathroom humor, that is) and again displays a dynamic variety not previously heard from the Aussie rockers. The more familiar pounders, "Rock 'n Roll Damnation," "Riff Raff," and "What's Next to the Moon" are tighter, focused bursts of energy that point towards the total mastery of the form the band would display on its next release, HIGHWAY TO HELL.2003 remastered reissue of 1978 album packaged in a digipak with 16 page full color booklet containing all original album art, many unpublished photos, classic memorabilia, and liner notes. | BON WILL ALWAYS BE THE MAN i love this cd.its got that down and dirty bluesy sound, and while every ac dc disc with bon scott is great.id put this second as my favorite next to highway to hell.sin city and rock n roll damnation are my two favorite tracks, along with whats next to the moon and gone shootin which to me are two great songs that often get overlooked.plus down payment blues and the others their all good.bon scott was the best at lyrics and this album lyric wise is their best. | Their Greatest.. This album really set the mold for what AC/DC was to become. The riffs are heavy as hell, their songwriting was kicked up a notch, and it's just a flat out kick you in the balls rocker. "Riff Raff" is my fave track on here because the song is always busy and moving. And don't forget about the solos!! Angus melts the fretboard in this song. All in all, this is their greatest album and the most overlooked. By Dennis (Lloydminster, Canada) |
| Rock Education This is one of the few albums I can say has no bad songs on it, and it swore me in as a Rock and Roll faithful. Listen to it loud and try not to get a sore neck from banging your head! By TRock (Phoenix, AZ) |
