Their Greatest Hits, Collectables' brief compilation on Chicago teen soulsters the Five Stairsteps, includes among its ten tracks several of the group's biggest, and best, hits. "World of Fantasy," "Danger! She's a Stranger," and "Come Back" are near-perfect performances, benefiting from Curtis Mayfield's elegantly brassy arrangements and the smooth harmonizing of the Burke family. And, of course, "O-o-h Child" (the group's biggest hit) makes an appearance as well. Ten tracks may be all the Five Stairsteps that some listeners want, but the group recorded many more great songs. ~ John Bush
Budget price collection from Collectables features the top selling hits 'Ooh Child,' 'Come Back' and 'World Of Fantasy'. 2003. Their Greatest Hits Music Five Stairsteps Their Greatest Hits Songs Their Greatest Hits Review

Their Greatest Hits CD music
$7.65 Odyssey is a more subdued, polished collection seemingly designed for mainstream radio airplay. Vocalist Joe Lynn Turner gives the set a smooth, professional feel, and Yngwie Malmsteen's playing is more mellow, due partly to the fact that he was still recovering from his near-fatal car accident when the album was recorded. However, all of this ...

Their Greatest Hits CD music
$10.95 The follow-up to Caught Up came hot on its heels (the same year, in fact), offering a few more songs from the same mold -- Jackson's tough performances of songs charting the vagaries of modern love. There wasn't much of a concept at work here, despite a set of situation songs that would've fit well, including "One Night Stand," "How Do You Feel the Morning After," and best of all, a pair of classic Don Covay compositions ("Watch the One Who Brings You the News" and "A Letter Full of Tears"). Producer Brad Shapiro went for more of a blaxploitation feel on this record, which fit in well with the dominant emotion (mistrust) as well as Jackson's raw delivery. Other highlights include the outré "My Love Is So Fly" and her self-penned "I Got to Try It One Time," which became an R&B hit. ~ John Bush
'How Do You Feel The Morning After' asks Millie Jackson on the opening track of her 3rd album cut for Spring records and first issued in 1974; in Millie's case you're almost afraid to ask. The tracks for ...

Their Greatest Hits songs
$19.99 This 16-track, 77-minute single-disc compilation draws from all half-dozen of the albums issued by the duo in the 1980s and 1990s, leaning hardest on their 1983 debut Love Wars and 1988's Conscience. Due to its generous length and wide-ranging selection (as well as historical liner notes), it's certainly the best collection of their work available. It's only average middle-of-the-road soul of the period, however, and at times pretty lukewarm in its adult contemporary romantic funk trappings (and pretty dated in its slick '80s-'90s production). The highlight is unmistakably 1988's "Teardrops," beyond a doubt the catchiest song they managed in their career. Though missing the U.S. charts altogether (as did all of their singles), it was a hit in ...
