Though they have musical ties to emo and indie rock, Eisley's debut EP, Laughing City, reveals that the Texas-based quintet's true musical heritage lies in the dreamy, largely female guitar pop of the early '90s. Mellow Shallow
When I first heard their single "Marvelous things", I liked it, but the rest of the album including "Laughing City" was not so impressive. All the song had the same kind of mellowness, wasn't very much variation. The lyrics were that too intriguing either. They tends to repeat a lot. But I did like the things they sang about, it's kinda surreal.
