(3 Customer Reviews)
Remastered reissue of the classic metal album, originally released in 1986, packaged in a Digipak. 14 tracks including two bonus tracks, 'Flesh & Fire' (7 inch B-side) & 'D.B. Blues' (12 inch B-side). 2003.
While W.A.S.P. remained a gimmick-heavy live act (around this time, Blackie Lawless had a codpiece that would shoot sparks!), they attempted to grow musically with each successive release -- most evidently beginning with 1986's Inside the Electric Circus. While Lawless was the band's main leader and songwriter from the beginning, he had even more of a say in the musical direction by switching to rhythm guitar from bass when original guitarist Randy Piper exited the band (ex-King Kobra member Johnny Rod joined on bass). By selecting a pair of early-'70s hard rock classics to cover -- Humble Pie's "I Don't Need No Doctor" and Uriah Heep's "Easy Living" -- it was clear that W.A.S.P. wanted their fans to pay more attention to the music. But it's not to say that the group completely abandoned their brash heavy metal roots -- the U.K. single "9.5.-N.A.S.T.Y." and the album-opening title track packed plenty of scream-along excitement. [The 1998 reissue contains a pair of B-sides previously unavailable on CD: "Flesh and Fire" and "D.B. Blues."] ~ Greg Prato

| Inside The Electric Circus Music Review Average Rating: (5 out of 5 stars) Underrated Album of '86 In 1986, W.A.S.P was overlooked because of the overrated Master Of Puppets, Megadeth had a good album out, and slayer had Reign In blood.
This is an over-looked gem. Submitted by kbob (Waynesboro PA) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
Prime W.A.S.P. Without doubt this is W.A.S.P. at their very best. The energy and passion of this classic album makes great listening each and every time you play it loud and hard. If you are lucky enough to have the W.A.S.P Videos in the Raw collection as well you are truly fortunate. Submitted by dadgeman (Auckland, New Zealand) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
Very good work !! Although less commented or famous than "The Last Command" , this album is a very good example of hard rock well done. It´s raw and pure energy and a little bit faster than the "newer brother" and they represent, in my opinion, the more interesting part of their work.

$9.99 W.A.S.P.: Blackie Lawless (vocals, guitar, keyboards); Darrell Roberts (guitar, background vocals); Mike Duda (bass, background vocals); Frankie Banali (drums). Includes liner notes by Blackie Lawless. Personnel: Blackie Lawless (vocals, guitar, keyboards); Darrell Roberts (vocals, guitar); Mike Duda (vocals); Frankie Banali (drums). Audio Mixer: Bill Metoyer. Recording information: Fort Apache. In the liner notes that Blackie Lawless wrote for Dying for the World, W.A.S.P.'s founder/lead singer angrily declares, "F*ck political correctness; that went down with the World Trade Center." Of course, being politically correct is something that Lawless has never been accused of. Back in the '80s, his over-the-top antics offended people of all political ...

Inside The Electric Circus
$9.99 A classic album re-mastered and repackaged in a stunning digipack. Three bonus tracks: Animal (@#$ Like A Beast) (Bonus Track 7"/12" A Side), Show No Mercy (Bonus Track 7" B-Side), and Paint It Black (Bonus Track 7" B-Side)

W.A.S.P: Blackie Lawless (vocals, bass); Randy Piper (vocals, guitar); Tony Richards (vocals, drums); Chris Holmes (guitar). Includes liner notes by Dante Bonutto and Blackie Lawless. All tracks have been digitally remastered. With glam rock making a comeback of sorts in 1984 (Mötley Crüe, Ratt, etc.), another Los Angeles band, W.A.S.P., couldn't have picked a better time to release its self-titled debut. By merging lyrics that dealt with the expected heavy metal themes (sex, Satanism, etc.) alongside Blackie Lawless' rough vocals and Chris Holmes' guitar riffing, the band sounded and looked more menacing than your average L.A. glam band at the time. Add to it a stage show that was gimmick-heavy (Lawless would drink blood from a skull and rip open a pillow, while wearing buttless leather pants ...
