In 1997, legendary calypso performer Harry Belafonte gave a performance that was filmed by masterful and award-winning video director Jim Brown. The result, AN EVENING WITH HARRY BELAFONTE AND FRIENDS was broadcast on PBS and become the star's first concert video in more than 10 years. Joined by several musician friends from the Caribbean, Latin America, and Africa, Belafonte performs a stellar set which includes the hits "Island In the Sun," "Banana Boat," and "Jamaica Farewell.'

Although there is no DTS or sourround sound, the sound quality of this DVD is VERY GOOD. The picture quality is VERY GOOD too. An excellent DVD.

Harry Belafonte performes this beautiful concert with a few guests. Excellent recording. Excellent sound. Excellent picture quality. Excellent music. Any fan of Harry Belafonte should get this. It is a sure winner. A concert with great atmosphere.
