Terrific music by superb musicians - Joni in great form, with a dream band: Pat Metheny, Jaco Pastorius, Don Alias, Lyle Mays, and Michael Brecker. I've listened and watched this a hundred times, and it still seems brand new.
The only change I'd make is to add more of the concert footage (music) to make it even more wonderful.

Joni Mitchell in great form - but something's missing...
It is always a delightful experience listening to and seeing Joni Mitchell perform, and this 1979 concert is no exception to that rule. Here Mitchell fronts a band of jazz rock greats like Pat Metheny, Lyle Mays, Jaco Pastorius, Michael Brecker, Don Alias plus The Persuasions on harmony vocals on some of the songs. Her voice is in great shape and the backing is superb. The 14 track songlist includes "Raised On Robbery", which was left out on the double CD "Shadows & Light." But for reasons unknown several highligts from this CD are not presented on the DVD, including "Dreamland", "God Must Be A Bogey Man" and the wonderful closing cut "Woodstock" with it's chiming open-tuned guitars fading into the night.
On a sonic level, this concert is ok, but it doesn't feel like this was given top priority when the digital master and transfer were made. Otherwise they would have given you a choice between Dolby Digital 5.1 & DTS 5.1. In spite of these drawbacks there's no reason why you shouldn't enjoy the show, because Mitchell is in a class óf her own.

power of folk music combined with the melodic harmonies of jazz....
