Ella Fitzgerald Concert Years CDs (1994)
25 Grandes: Sobrevivire songs Recorded between 1953 and 1983. Includes liner notes by Eric Miller and Benny Green.
THE CONCERT YEARS is an impressive four-disc box set covering the decades from 1953 to 1983. It was a time when Ella Fitzgerald was probably the most renowned female jazz singer in the world, selling out large theaters and concert halls when most jazz musicians could barely fill a nightclub.
These are all live recordings, obviously, and they run the gamut ...

Roxette Charm School CD (2011)
25 Grandes: Sobrevivire CD music Returning to action after a decade-long hiatus, Roxette don't skip a beat on 2011's Charm School. Roxette were never in the thick of things, never setting the pace, but they did reflect their times during their 1988-1991 peak. They still reflect those times 20 years later, still favoring the brightly colored productions of the late `80s, still relying on cavernous drums and squealing fuzz guitars skipping over tightly wound guitar riffs, piling on synth after synth, every element accentuating their enormous hooks. Roxette may ...

Lou Barlow Lou Barlow and Friends: Another Collection of Home Recordings CD (1995)
25 Grandes: Sobrevivire buy CD music For a time in the 1990s, it seemed as if one could measure the passage of time by the frequency of Lou Barlow-affiliated releases--surely only a few months had passed if a new solo, Sebadoh, or Folk Implosion record was out. ANOTHER COLLECTION OF HOME RECORDINGS is a seemingly hodgepodge cobbling of songs that Barlow recorded either by himself or with the aid of various friends (Sebadoh's Bob Fay, Lou's sister Abby) in the first half of the `90s. They've been recorded in glorious ...

Eric Dolphy / Ken Mcintyre Looking Ahead CD (1960)
25 Grandes: Sobrevivire CD music It was quite fitting that Ken McIntyre had an opportunity to record in a quintet with Eric Dolphy, for his multi-instrumental approach was similar to Dolphy's, although he always had a very different sound. On this CD reissue, McIntyre plays alto on four tunes and flute on two others (his work on bassoon, oboe, and bass clarinet would come slightly later), while Dolphy mostly plays alto but doubles on flute on one number and switches to bass clarinet for "Dianna." With pianist Walter Bishop, ...

Batya Diamond Love Along the Way CD (2005)
25 Grandes: Sobrevivire album for sale Love Along the Way is the acclaimed debut CD from singer/ songwriter/spiritual leader Batya Diamond. "Batya channels the spirit with all of her heart, and with all her soul...and we are all the richer for her gift of music," writes popular Jewish recording artist Craig Taubman. Batya blends Torah teachings, prayer texts and her own wisdom with contemporary music, to craft songs that are both deeply meaningful and yet easily accessible. Her sound is eclectic: the eleven songs on this CD range from pop/folk to a world music feel; from chant to plaintive ballad - some in English, some in Hebrew, all with faithful translations. Expertly arranged ...

Clamnation Vol. 3 - Malacology CD (2006)
25 Grandes: Sobrevivire buy CD music Formed in 1989 by four of the current members, Clamnation began life as the blues/punk combo The Clams. As the members' musical interests drifted towards Latin jazz and the post-bop explorations of artists like Charles Mingus, Sun Ra, and John Coltrane, The Clams folded but was expanded and retooled to form the first version of Clamnation, which performed around Milwaukee from 1990 -1995. The current version of the band was assembled in February of 1996 and, with some minor changes in personnel, has been performing around southeast Wisconsin ever since. Clamnation continues to honor its previous influences, but has also incorporated the modern approaches of Dave Holland, Ben Allison, Woody Shaw, and Chris Potter in both the covered and original material it performs.
Clamnation has performed at Milwaukee area events such as Summerfest, River Splash, the Third Ward Summer Sizzle Jazz Festival, and River Rhythms. They have also been an invited performer at UW-Madison's "Behind the Beat" jazz series. The group is a mainstay at popular Milwaukee hangouts like the Highbury Pub, the Jazz Estate, the Nomad World Pub, and Bar Lulu. The summer months of 2006 have Clamnation slated for some exciting performances at new venues like the Sol Fire Lounge (Milwaukee, WI) and the Outdoor Festival of the Arts (Sheboygan, WI), and cool festivals like Summerfest (Milwaukee, WI) and the long-running Jazz in the Park (Milwaukee, WI).
With three recordings to their credit, and the newest, Volume III: Malacology, drawing rave reviews from local and national press, Clamnation is continuing its tradition of restless exploration into and fusion of the rhythmic roots and modern harmonic concepts of jazz.
Clamnation features:
Jamie Breiwick: Trumpet, flugelhornMike Pauers: Baritone and tenor saxesBrian Dietz: GuitarDave Dinauer: BassTom Presser: Congas, percussionJay Arpin: Drums, percussion
