||Don't watch if you're close minded|
This movie is one of the least unrealistic movies on the subject that I've ever seen. Admittedly, the acting was at times flat, but the directing, being a small budget foreign film, was excellent. The film opened a possibility and left the rest to the imagination of the viewer! If we're to discover alien life, it's far more likely to happen this way than the way it would via Mission to Mars or Independence Day or any other big budget sci-fi unrealistic crappy American movie way. If you don't want to be lead to think and use your imagination, then don't buy this; keep buying big budget American crap.

||held my iterest-not ba mars movie|
i was searching the endless rows of videos at the store..and came across this intresting "journey to mars" movie entitled "Stranded" starring the great Vincent Gallo as Luka --the premise of the movie is the first manned mission to Mars crash lands on the planet for mysterious reasons..though the scientific presence of differing localized magnetic gravitational fields on the planet is offered as a reason for the failure..which plays into nicely, with the recent actual events of NASA's troubled Mars missions...& "Stranded" ..offers interesting insight for "just a movie" about Mars, which I enjoyed...its not a high budget movie but its never cheesy either like the bbc pbs sci fi classic K9---and the dialogue is interesting banter mostly because Vince Gallo is very convincing as the one who has all the facts & figures on the crew's chance of survival and is most dominating...its worth seeing the movie for his performance..the other crew are "good people trying to make the best of things of their survivalist dilemma"-waiting to be rescued only to be reminded by Luka (Gallo) of their certain fate...which is interesting to watch this play out..the whole kill the messenger who brings bad news...in all I enjoyed this movie & if you like all the Mars fascinaton bout the planet you will lke this movie--i liked this movie better than the overwrought puzzling "Mission to Mars" where apparently space suits were uneccesary on the planet..or more likely would detract from tim robbins big melon head...watch Stranded much more real

||STRANDED leaves you...|
besides the bad acting & writing, the producers didn't give this film a chance. there was no real buildup of the isolation that the characters should have felt. let's give up right away and sacrifice ourselves for the betterment of mankind. Right!!!!

||A fantasy that will blow your mind|
I bought this movie thinking ah this looks like it will kill an hour of my time. I watched this and I was amazed. I must admit acting was OK and shooting half the movie threw a blury video camra got a little anoying. The rest of time the effects were really good. Finding an ancient civilatzation totaly befuddled me. Its not that i didn't like the ending but i wanted to know more. I was like "That's It!" This movie is a total all out cliffhanger. I hope they make a STRANDED TWO!
