| | This Is Neo-Goth CD (3 Customer Reviews)
This Is Neo-Goth is yet another daunting three-disc package from Cleopatra, one that compiles 27 industrial-dance tracks for the first two discs and then provides a mix from adequate Hawaiian DJ RiB (aka Razed in Black, who also contributes the song "Share This Poison") for the third. It's a fair and hardly definitive selection (considering the title), including material from Orgy, Velvet Acid Christ, :wumpscut, Electric Hellfire Club, Strawberry Switchblade, Wolfsheim, VNV Nation, and Spahn Ranch. Fans of these groups might enjoy the mix disc, which is pulled off with a good degree of skill. And, of course, nothing here actually dates from medieval times -- hence the "neo" prefix in the title. ~ Andy Kellman
A gorgeous mixture of thundering beats, lush electronic melodies, enhanced by an intense vocal delivery, this is neo-goth! Features the hottest artists in this burgeoning new genre such as Orgy, VNV Nation, Zeromancer, Apoptygma Berzerk, Razed In Black and many more! Disc 3 is a non-stop mix by Razed In Black's very own DJ Rib! Disc 1 & 2 contain 27 tracks. Standard double jewelcase in a slipbox. Cleopatra. 2003.

This Is Neo-Goth songs
$12.95 After such a powerful debut release, Failure was a much-anticipated follow-up from electro act Assemblage 23. Tom Shear did not disappoint, and Failure transcended any expectation. The sound of Assemblage 23 has evolved into something darker and more refined, and Shear has more to say. The combination of these elements leaves a release that is energetic, emotive, and uses sound in an original ...

This Is Neo-Goth album
$13.85 Although the band is beloved of goth kids and darkwave aficionados, Razed in Black has always been more complex than that; the group has been featured on electro-clash, neo-goth and disco/techno compilations, and its new album includes stylistic shout-outs to everyone from Depeche Mode (on the lovely "Come Back to Me") to, well, Metallica (the very crunchy "Am I 2 Blame?"). With the help of guest artists that include Spahn Ranch, Neptune (who contributes lyrics on "Misunderstood") and DJ MissGuided, Razed in Black explore house, industrial, hip hop, metal and synth pop without ever sounding like dabblers or dilettantes, in ...
| | I Ran: The Best Of A Flock Of Seagulls CD (2003)
This Is Neo-Goth CD music
$9.79 A Flock of Seagulls were the missing link between Gary Numan and Duran Duran. The Liverpool, England, new wave scenesters captured the faux-science fiction vibe of the '80s with echo-laden rock anthems, chilly love songs, and a unique, post-glam fashion sense. For their tenth "greatest hits" package -- one was an album of remixes -- they offer their fans a vanity project. Flock leader Mike Score, who from the looks of the cover art had spent the last few years immersed in endless games of Grand Theft Auto and Miami Vice reruns, has re-recorded nine of the group's best-loved tracks for the deceptively titled I Ran: The Best Of. His reverence for the material is obvious, as nary a note nor drum fill has been altered from the originals, yet the limp production, flat, factory synth patches, and uninspired vocals make the whole endeavor an exercise in bowling-alley karaoke. Why bother? The prototypes were classic decade-rendered snapshots of forward-thinking pop that transcended much of the garbage being thrown back into the cupboards of the mid-'80s Top 40 charts, and to hear them reduced to what should have been a late-night project fueled by nostalgia ...
