Woman Wants A Freak! songs
$26.79 Clarence "Gatemouth" Brown has had such a long, varied, and prolific career that it's hard to remember how far back his discography actually stretches. BOOGIE UPROAR, a box set that includes the earliest recordings by the Texas blues legend, reaches back to the late 1940s and early '50s, and serves to remind listeners that Brown was ripping through edgy, electric roots music long before the official advent of rock & roll. These vintage sides are a virtual textbook of Brown's startling six-string antics, many of which went on to become stock in trade for up-and-coming blues guitarists from Texas and beyond.
Of the four discs in the BOOGIE UPROAR box, one and a half are devoted to Brown's early sides. The rest of the set showcases recordings by other Texas axe-slingers from the period. Goree Carter, for example, who dominates disc three, combines T-Bone Walker-inspired jump blues with a proto-rock-&-roll sound, and gives Brown's fiery style ...

Woman Wants A Freak! music CDs
$10.49 The 2007 movie musical ACROSS THE UNIVERSE celebrates beloved songs by the Beatles in the context of a fictional romantic tale from director Julie Taymor. Anchored by young love-struck characters named Jude (Jim Sturgess) and Lucy (Evan Rachel Wood), the film features the cast, which also includes Joe Cocker and U2's Bono, performing Fab Four tunes with great gusto. Among the many highlights of the soundtrack are Sturgess's emotive rendition of the title track, Cocker's stomping version of "Come Together," and an energetic take on "I Am the Walrus" by Bono and the Secret Machines. Like Cirque du Soleil's LOVE show, UNIVERSE presents Beatles classics cast in a dramatic light, giving the album a wide appeal with its boisterous, Broadway veneer.
The Halfway Crooks are a band at the start of a unique blend of reggae-rock, live hip hop, and ska from Yonkers, New York. Halfway Crooks came together in early 2004, mixing several musical elements together in a style that can be described only by hearing it: soulful and grooving rock, reggae, ska, hip-hop, and funk rhythms played by drums, guitar, and bass, accompanied by organ, synths, and keyboards; overlapped by smooth melodies, melodic raps, and infectious hooks; featuring several tracks accompanied by guest lyricists and vocalists; with lyrics painting a picture of suburban life, through teenage years and into the 20's.Following a path of originality, similar to the influences of Sublime, the Roots, and the Red Hot Chili Peppers, the Halfway Crooks blend several layers that equally appeal to fans of rock and rap alike, widening their potential audience tenfold. The average Joe will always stop on a radio station for a good one-liner hook, and music lovers everywhere welcome the improvisational element and eclectic sounds that the Halfway Crooks' music exhibits. The group is known for their energetic performances and crazy stage antics which makes every show a party within itself. When you're at a Crooks show you never know what your going to get. The only ...
