This 9 time Annie Award winning animated film features the voices of Jennifer Aniston, Harry Connick Jr., and Vin Diesel. DVD extras include 8 additional scenes including an alternate opening, 12 branching mini-documentaries, commentary by the director and key animators, The Voice of the Giant: Vin Diesel featurette, all-new digital transfer, & more! Based on poet Ted Hughes' 1968 children's book, former SIMPSONS producer Brad Bird's adaptation proves to be a work of art the family can enjoy together--simple and visually captivating enough for kids and sharp and touching enough for adults. Hogarth is a young boy in 1950s Maine. When he finds a kind and very large robot (of unknown origin), a strong bond of friendship is formed between the two. It isn't long, however, until a government agent is on their trail, wanting to destory the robot. A beautifully rendered fable. Iron Giant Movie Review Average Rating: (4.8 out of 5 stars) understated greatness A touching, moving story that you want to
share with everyone, that everyone should see. I saw this movie when it first came out and showed it to a class of troubled adolescents who watched in attentive quiet, ending with some students and teachers with tears in their eyes. This movie will always have a favorite
place in my heart. Submitted by mlcoop3 (State College,Pa) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
Wonderful but where is the sequel? Superior in every way.
You and your children should not miss this film.
The childrens book has scratchy art but the animation here is almost 3D. It is magnificent.
Buy this film and be happy.

Iron Giant This is a great movie,I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 because of a couple of bad words. Submitted by steve_meadows (Fairmont, WV) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No 0 of 1 found this helpful.
You haven't seen this movie?... ...SHAME on you! It's great family fun from beginning to end. If it's your first time watching it, do so with your children. You will laugh AND cry with them, guaranteed. Set in the Sputnik era (and all the McCarthyistic paranoia that surrounded it), this movie centers around a boy and his developing friendship with a mysterious but gentle giant robot that has lost it's memory. This one is right up there with Finding Nemo and The Incredibles. A MUST have for the family collection. Submitted by Wang Hung Lo (Pensacola, FL) Was This Review Helpful? Cold War Paranoia Great artwork and animations; very nice
indeed, but a little frightening for the kiddies. The storyline is spot-on
in its understanding of the kind of
paranoia that existed in western governments and the military during the Cold-War era, and in its understanding
also of the openness of childrens' minds. We see in contrast how those of
adults are closed: "It's big, we don't
know what it is, or where it came from:
it must be destroyed". This film should
be required viewing at political and
military academies.

| | M*A*S*H DVD (1970) Widescreen
Iron Giant video
$10.49 With the release of Robert Altman's M*A*S*H in 1970, a new form of comedy was born, one that would help to forever change the face of cinema. Altman's audacious film reflected the American counterculture's growing distrust of religion and government in the late 1960s and early 1970s, resulting in one of the biggest box office smashes of its time. Introducing the techniques he would employ throughout his storied career--overlapping dialogue, a constantly moving camera with a heavy amount of zooming, and a bold combination of frank subject matter with cynical humor--Altman immediately vaulted himself to Hollywood's upper ranks. Based on the novel by Richard Hooker, M*A*S*H follows a group of Mobile Army Surgical Hospital officers as they perform surgery and pass the time just miles from the front lines of the Korean conflict. Led by sardonic captains "Hawkeye" Pierce (Donald Sutherland) and "Trapper" John McIntyre (Elliott ...
