Solid movie. Ah...Van Dammes Kickboxer. To start things off, its not really an incredible movie but its pretty solid. In this one, Van Damme is seeking revenge against the crazy thai fighter Tong Po for crippling his brother. To be honest, I think Van Dammes Bloodsport still has better quality. And Bloodsports main villian,(Bolo Yeung)from Bruce Lees Enter The Dragon was much better.I mean Tong Po is pretty fierce but Bolo topped off Bloodsports pure quality to a tee.Overall,Kickboxer is a pretty solid film and should please any Van Damme fan.Still, if youve never witnessed Bloodsport, Id suggest viewing that one first. Van Damme at his best This is Van Damme in his prime and at the top of his game. Martial artists will love this movie, especially the incredible final fight scene at the end. Very believable fighting and a great story line. I highly recommend. Submitted by morneauwns (Winslow, ME, USA) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No 0 of 1 found this helpful.
Best Van Damme Movie!!!! I purchased this move from cduniverse and I'm telling you this dvd is very rare, therefore very hard to find in stores.. I mean I searched hmv, blockbuster, music worlds, wal-mart, zellers, k-mart, dvd video stores all over my city and no one has this. I was so surprised that cduniverse had it so I ordered. And although it's a FS and the only release out there, I'm still very happy! :D Thanks CDUniverse. Submitted by dts29 (Toronto Canada) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No 0 of 2 found this helpful.

Kickboxer review
$9.69 Brian De Palma's commercial breakout, based on a novel by Stephen King, helped launch a whole slew of teen-based horror films, and Carrie the blood-spattered prom queen has taken her throne in the pantheon of modern American myth. High school girls played by Amy Irving (in her film debut), P.J. Soles, and Nancy Allen plot to avenge themselves on ostracized fellow student and budding telekinetic Carrie White (Sissy Spacek) after they get in trouble for pelting her with tampons. When they get popular boy Tommy Ross (William Katz) to be her date for the prom, the stage is set for some heart-rending cruelty and fiery retribution. De Palma expertly uses split screens, slow motion, color filters, and tracking shots to imbue the proceedings with a haunting, allegorical elegance. Piper Laurie plays Carrie's mentally ill, devoutly Christian mom; she's brilliant, as is Spacek. John Travolta has a memorable pre-SATURDAY NIGHT FEVER role as one of the girls' beer-guzzling boyfriends. There was finally a sequel in 1999, as well as a short-lived Broadway musical.
